The Tax Tools option is still on the left sidebar, but it may be hidden.
For TurboTax Online, use the "Save your [year] return to your computer" option within the Tax Tools > Tools Center
Thanks for getting back. This is the picture of the Tools Center, that i see. There is NO option of export or save it on computer.
Appreciate your help
Interesting......did you just recently e-file it?
I was wondering if the choice might be locked out until your e-file is actually accepted by Feds and state (if state was filed at the same time).....or maybe a TTX expert knows for sure why.
On my tools center pop up, there is another line just below the Delete a Form , that lets you download the .tax2025 datafile
I have not yet filed it... still in the process of editing/revisiting.
Do you want to OPEN your online return in the Desktop program to continue? There is another way.
Or you might be in the wrong account. How to view all your accounts

It's common to end up with multiple accounts. First LOG OUT of whatever TurboTax account you're logged into right now. Then use this TurboTax account recovery website to get a list of user ID's for an email address. Run the tool against any email addresses you may have used

Hmmmmmm...
Or are you actually working/editing your file in the Desktop software on your computer?
If so, your tax file isn't in an Online account...it is only stored on your computer.
I started everything fresh... deleted everything that i had done earlier. Now i see the save option.
Thanks
i see the screen; missing the save online file to desktop button for current 2025 tax year return to allow transfer into desktop software
what to do?
I started with fresh start -- delete everything. Use another username if the old username does not allow you to delete everything. With everything fresh, start saving the online progress on your computer till you have completed all the forms of federal/sate. What i have seen, don't open desktop version as long as you are working on webpage version (as they both have same email addresses and i think that messes up the save to desktop option when simultaneously opened).
Hope this helps.
sadly, it doesn't seem to be hidden...many have also reported it missing. May have to start from scratch using the desktop version or return it and use a different tax provider!?
I also see the same thing!
what is the "other way"?
thx!
Would this only be if you were unable to locate your online version? If you're working online and filled out most of it online and want to transfer to desktop, the option should be in the online version you started working in, no?
