TT is the problem here along with their holding company Santa barbara..they already got our stimulus money and kicked it back to the irs because they didnt want to deal with directing it to the right accounts because they cant get any money from doing it! They cant charge is a fee to route it to us like they could with our taxes therefore they washed their hands of it and claimed irs has the info which they dont. I am currently on hold with a dept in the treasury. The number was given to me by someone having the same issues as us and she said they were able to enter her DD for her and said her money would be coming next week. If I am able to get my DD info entered through them (like she said they did hers) I will post the number here so that everyone having this problem can get it taken care of. She said she sat on hold for 2 hours before she could got someone. Currently I've been on hold 30 mins and will stay on the line until someone answers. Like I said if it pans out and works I will post the info here so that you all can do the same.
Thanks for posting that. What I take from that is if/when you have your TT fees taken out a temp account is set up at SBTPG that is why they are saying the IRS does not have our account numbers and routing numbers which I can clearly see when I log in to my TT card.
When I go onto SBPTG it says the following updated today:
I paid for tax preparation using Santa Barbara TPG this tax season. How will I receive my Economic Impact Payment?
The IRS will issue direct deposits to taxpayers that requested a direct deposit disbursement or applied for a new debit card when they prepared their own return online. An IRS-issued check will be mailed to taxpayers that requested a check printed from their tax professional's office, Walmart Direct2Cash or a Walmart MoneyCard issued by their tax professional.
If a payment is returned to the IRS (Ex. bank account is closed), the IRS will mail a check to the taxpayer.
In the rare event that payments are inadvertently sent to TPG, a plan is in place to help identify and expedite the return of these payments to the IRS so that the IRS can reissue payments directly to affected taxpayers as soon as possible. If we are unable to identify the payment as an Economic Impact Payment, the deposit will be processed as a federal refund, with all associated fees withheld from the deposit amount.
We understand that taxpayers need their refund or EIP more than ever, so we are committed to getting money to taxpayers as quickly and easily as possible.

@jphoagie according to the statement TT put out yesterday I believe they claim that the irs has all our DD info. We all know that not true because we had fees withheld therefore TT had to have access to our tax return money before we did. That's why I am suggesting that everyone that had fees taken out or an advance to request tax transcript from the irs and then compare it to the tax papers that were produced for us by TT when we filed to see if the routing and account numbers match. I have a feeling they wont match because if they did then there would have been no way for TT to get their fees from our returns because it would have been sent directly to our cards. On my tax papers the routing and acct number match the ones for my TT debit card. I believe the papers the irs has will have a different routing and acct number.
@Xkysmomyou are correct when I get a chance I am going to compare my transcript forms with my deposit info. What your are saying is right because SBTPG uses a different account/routing number so they can take their fees first, then they send our refund to us using the correct info for our debit cards. They have since closed out those accounts so they have sent the payment back to IRS so we will get a paper check whenever they send those out. That is what I making out of everything I read.
You would think since TT knew this was coming they could've done something. Now for me it's to late to change my banking info on IRS because it says it was already deposited onto my TT card.

@jphoagie I cant even get on the irs tool to change my DD. I was able to on wednesday but didnt change it then because TT employees assured me there wouldnt be an issue. I wish I would have gone with my gut and changed it when I was able to Wednesday. Since then it pops the message saying my info is wrong or I'm locked out for 24 hours. Its been over 48 hours since I've been able to get on the tool. TT had 3 weeks to get this figured out but like I said they wouldnt do anything because they wouldnt get a cut of our money so they dont care. I'm still on hold with this other number and as soon as I get thru and a person I will let yall know if I was successful or not
The irs has locked me out and its been past 24hrs. They have the information that is on the tax return but are requesting additional info. No one has answers just a bunch of passing the buck or non working websites. Will look else where for tax prep next year and tell friends and family to do the same. This is unacceptable.
@Mrivers I've been locked out for over 48 hours now. This is ridiculous the irs should have our direct deposit stuff because of the fact that is what is on our tax papers. But I'm sure we will all find out when we get our transcripts from the Irs that those account and routing number does not match their account and routing number that is on the taxpapers that we have. I have used Turbo tax self employed for over 10 years for myself and my boyfriend and after this year I am done with turbotax.
@Masters523 have you had any luck getting on the irs tool? I still havent been able to. I'm still on hold with the number I was given to call and its been 2 hours and 6 mins so far.
Hey guys I frequently use my turbo card to this day even get payroll checks direct deposited to this card tho I haven filed for 2019 but have filed for 2018 I'm aware I still would be getting a stimulus check but havent received it yet I've tried the irs tool but it says I'm locked out and need to try within 24 hours it's been three days and I still get the same prompt what should I do since there is no way to check if they're pending deposits on my turbo card
The IRS hardly gets it wrong! If we are being told in the "Check your Stimulus" Tool that they don't have our DD info then they don't! I entered mine in half way threw the day this past Wednesday! If it is telling you to do the same I advise ANYONE to use a different Acct then the TT card! Like someone else has said TT knew this for awhile and could of figured it out for it's customer's who have been with them for YEARS!! I have been using and PAYING for there services for TEN YEARS NOW!! This is NOT even my first issue with using TT, which should have been my 1st, 2nd, and 3rd sign!!! I do hope we get our payments during this "Second Wave" next week!
The WORST part is ONE: They are saying this is not TT fault as it is the 3rd party they use to give us our refunds!!
TWO: They are still lying to everyone that they will have there money soon!
@Mrtyson right now you are in the same boat as many of us on this thread. I was able to get on the tool on Wednesday when it launched and it asked for DD info. Well I called intuit TT at that time and they told me I didnt need to do anything. Well as I researched more I determined that TT lied and we did need to enter the info. So I went back to do it and I got the message you are getting saying locked out try again in 24 hours. Well that was Wednesday afternoon and i still get the same message. Funny thing is i had my dad sign in yesterday (he already got his stimilus) and repeat signing in until it gave him the message we are seeing. Last time was about 7pm last night. Well this morning I had him try and get on the tool and it let him! It showed his had been sent which was same info as previous. But it let him in today when he got the lockout message last night. Yet it wont let many of us in like you and me and many others on another thread. You can check your card balance by texting bal to 83854 and it will ask you for the last 4 of your card and then give you your balance
@stellalee1109 and what makes it worse is this "3rd party company" is owned by green dot who is connected to TT because TT uses green dot cards. So in reality it is their fault. They knew 3 weeks ago when they announced the passing of the stimilus there was going to be issues. Santa Barbara tpg is the holding company that got our returns and took the fees and then sent rest to us. Santa barbara has gotten all of our stimulus checks already and kicked them back because they cant take any fees from us so they wont do the work of forwarding it to us. And to this day TT is still claiming that the irs has our info when we all know thats not true! I suggest that everyone get their transcripts from the irs and see if the routing and acct numbers on their transcripts match the ones on our tax papers that were produced when we filed. I'm guess that they wont since then returns weren't sent directly to us
So I just checked my E-mail and recieved this. I filed using TurboTax, free version, no advances taken out. I will still be checking the "get my payment" at 5pm since that's when my 24hrs run out. I have been shut out for almost 2 full days but that E-mail definitely makes me feel better!
