In past years the CA state return was accepted in minutes, it has now been two days.

I'm closing this thread.
Many transmission hiccups have been resolved.

If your return is still "pending" 48 hours after e-filing, please send me a private message. It's also been reported that the IRS tracking tool is seeing delays.
I'll try to get to you as soon as possible. Thank you for your patience and kindness!

They didn't start processing until 2/12/2021, only 3 days ago. I filed my California return on 1/14/2021, I got a notification yesterday, 2/14/2021, that it had been accepted. Took an entire month for mine to be accepted, but that's because California didn't start processing until AFTER the IRS started on 2/12/2021. Both my Federal and California have now been accepted.

I need help.  My Federal return was accepted on 2-12-2021 but State of CA still pending.  That has never happened.  I can't reach anybody at Turbo Tax to see if its stuck so what do I do?  I paid over 200 for the use of their software ridiuculous

Mine still pending too. I agree that this is very unusual.

Please let me know what your outcome is. I am having the same issue with my state return stuck in pending status. My friend filed his via Turbotax just yesterday and both his fed/state was accepted immediately within the hour. I believe there might be some sort of early file error within Turbo Tax for the users who filed too early. My 8+ years of using turbotax and never once have I had this issue. The one time I accidently file too early (didn't know IRS wasn't accepting returns yet), I get this issue. =(

I am in CA as well. I wonder if they even received my state return from Turbo tax...hmmm...

I'm in the exact same boat as you all.  I filed on Feb. 12th, Federal return got accepted immediately, State of CA is still showing pending.  VERY frustrating as not only was it accepted immediately other years, but the one year I am due a big refund it appears to stuck.   I wish Turbo Tax would look into this for all of us and provide some type of answer.

I got an email today from Turbotax saying my CA return was rejected due to an error in their software. I clicked on the link and basically just resubmitted everything. I did not change anything. What is going on? I should get my money back for the inconvenience.  This is not cool. I was waiting for this money.

I submitted my CA efile about 2 weeks ago and also still Pending, Why?

Filed both fed and state on 2/10..Fed was accepted on 2/12 @1181_2:30 pm...State still shows as pending. This has never happened for me in the past, typically both get accepted at the same time...Its now 2/17 and state STILL show as pending.....Why is this? It seems many people are having the same issue...

This seems very strange! California returns are usually processed within hours. This is not a CA FTB issue, seems more like a software issue. I will contact the CA FTB but I don’t like the fact that TurboTax is staying silent again. Something is definitely wrong! My guess is that we will either 1. Have to resend the CA tax return should the TurboTax software allow it or 2. Paper file the return which will be a nightmare for many. You’d think TurboTax would learn from their previous mistake but here they are again...creating more issues. If I’m correct, this is mainly affecting those users who transmitted the state tax returns before February 12. I’ll keep everyone on here updated.

Update:

I was able to get a hold of a representative from the CA FTB, but the only thing I was told was to wait 3 weeks from the time of submission. It’s been 2 weeks for me and I told them they’ll be hearing from me in the next week. I also asked the person to confirm whether my return had been received and all she said was to wait 3 weeks. Like that’s literally all she kept saying  “wait 3 weeks.” I expressed the concern we are all having and she said we can check the status on the CA FTB website but that will only show up once the return has been accepted. My question was whether it was received or if there is any way for her to check on their end... but nope, 3 weeks. That’s all she knew to say. Sorry everyone! Just like this response, she sounded like a broken record.

@HB88I got the same response. It is just a mass emailed sent to all of us. So frustrating.

Not all of us  LOL.  Good luck everyone...hopefully this will get worked out sooner than later.   Have to admit, still not getting the warm fuzzies here  😉

Same with me.  IRS accepted on the 10th, CA still pending.  I called Turbo Tax Support and they were just reading off a script, not being able to give any answers or help.  Very frustrating.

Same. I filed February 6th. My federal was accepted February 14th I think, but my CA state still shows pending.

There is a glitch in their system.  I am going to keep calling today and be relentless.  I paid over 200 to use their software they are going to fix it for me.

Following post, I am having the same issue

I submitted both Federal and CA taxes on February 12. Both are listed as pending. So, 5 days now. It's unnerving to have an inexplicable delay in such an important process.

This *may* help everyone out here.  Head on over to Twitter and @ TeamTurboTax (TurboTax Support) has a pinned tweet for all to see.  I just dropped the link to this thread there and got the same (incorrect) vanilla response to the issue.  If enough people call this issue out on Twitter they *might* actually look into it rather than have the 'experts' tell folks to wait 3 weeks or contact the FTB for them.  Hitting up @ TurboTax wouldn't be  a bad idea either.  Good luck everyone.

I went on Twitter and searched and it looks like H&R Block customers are complaining about the same thing. Maybe it’s the state then.
