Why is SBTPG holding refunds?

Most unprofessional company I have ever dealt with! This is their way of dealing with cases when you ask where your refund is. Then they close your case with ZERO resolution . I filed a complaint with the BBB  PATHETIC

Contacted SBTPG again. Another different date they sent it. Now on hold for over an hour with the IRS. 
you know it’s weird I really would like to know what SBTPG sees when they look you up. 
Im wondering if it’s like a spinning wheel it lands in a date and they just give that. They have had the excuse of the system being messed up and now it’s fixed so why lies still. I would really like to apply for a job with this company, to get paid while sitting at home or wherever they may be when answering the call and just to get paid to lie to people. I’m in the wrong profession . Will update when I finally talk to the IRS. I did talk to one lady who does not see anything so she gave me a pin and transfers me to a department that specializes in finding out where my refund is. To be continued……

Also let it be known I have sent several emails with zero response and now they decide to send this bs. They also claim my account is on hold for unusual activity with zero explanation. Took their cut of fees and deposited my money with zero trace in my bank whatsoever. Should be illegal.

So here’s the scoop. I finally got the IRS on the line. They gave me a PIN number and sent me to a department that could track my refund. I explained my situation and they said it doesn’t sound like SBTPG is sending a check at all with how they have changed the dates and things they have said. So they put a trace on my refund for SBTPG to send it back to the IRS. They said I should have my refund and the full amount without the fees that SBTPG has taken out. If I do receive a check in the mail from SBTPG I’m to mail it to the IRS because it is null and void and then the IRS will send me a check. They said it could take 2 weeks, 4 weeks or 6. So here’s hoping it comes sooner then later but I’m just happy the IRS will be sending me a legit check instead of this phony SBTPG. 
Not sure if anyone has received a check from SBTPG but I guess I’m not taking the risk of waiting for false dates. Hope everyone gets this worked out and given their refund. Best wishes

im probably gonna give it a few more days to see what changes occur regarding a check date. If a date is added I’ll probably wait another 10 days or so before escalating this to the IRS since my amount was correct

Scam artists! Never will file with TurboTax again warning everyone I know too. They will hold your refund for unusual activity and not do anything to verify your identity. They won't even talk to me now because I filed a complaint with the BBB and they are NOT A CREDITED with them. Pathetic. About to get a lawyer involved this should be illegal they're straight fraudulent. Turbo tax doesn't give a d@MN either because they can't even contact them apparently due to security reasons. PATHETIC

They're definitely holding refunds. My refund was supposed to deposit to my bank acct, which was closed. Since I chose to pay my fees out of my federal return it went back to the SBTPG bank. My check was returned the same day & every time I check the website, call the both the automated line & speak w/customer service they are unable to say when my check will be mailed to me. They won't even give a time frame on how long it usually takes. What type of financial institution can't provide a date for when your funds will be sent/available? This is very suspicious.

@CarissaM yes they do. My check was returned back to them on March 2, 2022 from my bank due to it being closed & it's now the 10th. They will not even tell me when they're sending it out. 2 reps lied to me. The 1st was on 3/7 & she informed me my check was printed & would mail out either 3/10 or 3/11 when mail gets sent out. I called the very next day because I just wanted to be sure it would definitely be mailed out on a specific date & the 2nd rep told me my check hadn't been printed & to just keep trying back to see when it's be sent out. No date or anything. His excuse was that they have a lot of checks to print & mail, as if the bank you all use isn't capable of handling funds for such a large company. I even asked for a supervisor & he wouldn't transfer. That is very disheartening.

SBTPG is the worst ever!!! I received my refund in my account on February23, 2022 and the same day on February 23, 2022 they took it right out of my account. WHERE IS MY MONEY?????? I will never use Turbo Tax ever again. Times are already hard for people and then this happens SMH!!!!

If you used Refund Transfer, in this public forum, we do not have access to any information regarding refund processing. It would be necessary to contact TPG for additional information. They are one who handles your refund if you elected to pay your fees with your refund. You can also check out this TPG Help Article to check on your refund.

So they sent my money to civista bank and now it's pretty much in limbo lol. No contact from SBTPG or civista which appears to be the same bank. Says on my return they sent it to civista in Sandusky according to the IRS. They gave me an account and routing number but when I call them they can't tell me anything bc they say they it's through SBTPG.... YAY

Not true! I received an email from TPG stating that the IRS sent my refund to them on 2/1/22! Today is 3/11/22 and I still have nothing! They are indeed holding my refund!
