Missing from what?
This thread has multiple posts covering multiple different types of refunds so we do not know exactly to what you may be referring to without more information.
@Coachwee10 You have not provided any details. Which refund was short by $1300---federal or state? If the IRS or state reduced your refund they will send you a letter in several weeks. TurboTax does not get any information after you file your tax return, so no one at TurboTax knows why your refund was less than you expected. If you owed child support or back taxes, then some of your refund could have been seized to pay it. OR---lots of people have made mistakes this year with the recovery rebate credit or the child tax credit, resulting in reduced refunds when the IRS checks the amounts on line 28 or line 30 of your tax return. If you made a mistake when you entered the amount you received for the 3rd stimulus check or the amount you received for advance child tax credit, that could reduce your refund when the IRS corrects your mistake. Wait for the letter from the IRS (or state.)
Federal
Sometimes we can make an educated guess as to the reason for your reduced refund if you mention specific amounts--for example if your refund was short by $1400 per person---it is likely to be a mix up regarding the 3rd EIP payment. If you received the 3rd stimulus check of $1400 per person in 2021 then you got letter 6475 from the IRS about it. You needed to enter the amount you received. If you already received that money then line 30 on your Form 1040 should have been blank.
If it is short by $1800 or $1500 or a multiple of that amount --- maybe a mixup regarding the advance child tax credit payments. If you received monthly child tax credit payments of $250 or $300 per month between July and December of 2021, then you got letter 6419 from the IRS, and you were required to enter the amount of the advance payments. Only the remaining amount of the CTC should have been on line 28 of your Form 1040.
The IRS knows how much they sent to you for the 3rd stimulus check and they know how much they sent for advance child tax credit payments. If you answered something incorrectly on your tax return then the IRS made a correction that resulted in a reduced refund for you.
Or---the fees you were supposed to pay for using TurboTax + the "refund processing fee" charged by the third party bank….
Did you choose to have TT fees deducted from your Federal refund? (Remember that if you did that, you also agreed to an extra refund processing fee of $39.99 or $44.99 in CA)

The IRS will send you a letter that explains why your refund was reduced. Meanwhile it might help you to check your online IRS account.

1) what is the EXACT amount of the IRS adjustment?
2) what is on Line 28 of Form 1040?
3) what is on Line 30 of Form 1040?
answering those questions can help us pinpoint the reason for the adjustment as most adjustments referenced on these boards relate to these lines
I just received a deposit today from TPG and I did not opt into this. I was to receive my refund via my checking account from the IRS. Please advise how to proceed?

So I was suppose to get $737 from federal and $145 from state. When I checked my account I only received $665.32. Why is that?? I feel that I should have received the amounts shown on Turbo Tax.
@BdoAko527 No---you do not get the amount "shown on TurboTax" if you do not pay your TurboTax fees upfront using a credit or debit card. If you choose to have your fees deducted from your federal refund, then do the math---the refund you actually receive will be less because you have to pay TurboTax one way or the other. The fees are deducted from your federal refund---never from your state refund.

My tax check was like 100 bucks short....
Am I gonna get the rest of my taxes
TPG just sent me my refund today and it is 100 short. I thought they were looking into this last year to find a solution. Anybody know why are money is being taken (besides the obvious?)
Expect the same this year unless you were smart enough to NOT go through turbo tax.
Will happen again unless you file another way. Did you ever get compensated may I ask?
