Where’s my federal refund?

Listen for those who HAD TO FILE UNEMPLOYMENT WHO HAD NO CHOICE but file is unfair to say that, they’re the reason why our refunds aren’t returned yet! Like I’m Self-Employed & my self employment is RideShare & I can prove why I qualified for unemployment & how I verified that I qualified as well. Like I’m pretty sure the majority of people that used TurboTax drew from unemployment & needless to say I’m very GRATEFUL that I was able to qualify for & receive the PUA! I only did what I was qualified for. Like come on it’s not fair to try n blame it on those who got unemployment like I had a choice when I have five children, one in college on top of that, one in high school one on middle school & my two youngest boys are in elementary school. I had to stop working my part time RideShare jobs & Stay home to do virtual school with my kids. I could have gone to work & left all of those responsibilities on my oldest who’s a College student & who was stuck home because of his school being shutdown & only doing virtual but would that BE fair to him & my other four children? No it wouldn’t & it Isn’t fair to put that on him. So I did what I knew was best & that was to stay my azz home with my children & Not just not work but Not to expose them to contacting COVID-19 because I’d be no good to my children if I had gotten infected let alone If I was exposed & like all of those millions of poor people who died because the Government & the President did not know what to tell us! It’s sad Sooo please don’t blame people for trying to survive it’s not fair.

Where’s my federal refund?

I did my taxes through Turbo tax on March 7th 2021, it said the IRS accepted them,  but I still have not received them,  it says they are still being processed. There is no way I can pay turbo tax until I get my refund..

If you’re in need of assistance, call us by the Tuesday prior to your debit date at 1-888-808-1723 to speak with a trained specialist and mention “auto-debit”, or visit TurboTax Support.

I’m still waiting too. Shows accepted March 17 and online shows processing. Sadly I didn’t get stimulus money either and I am hoping that after my return is processed I will. It helps I am not alone here.

Where’s my federal refund?

What number do I call to actually speak to someone at the IRS cause like many I have not seen my federal and filed in March.  I like to make sure I am good.

Call the IRS: 1-800-829-1040 hours 7 AM - 7 PM local time Monday-Friday
When calling the IRS do NOT choose the first option re: "Refund", or it will send you to an automated phone line.
So after first choosing your language, then do NOT choose Option 1 (refund info). Choose option 2 for "personal income tax" instead.
Then press 1 for "form, tax history, or payment".
Then press 3 "for all other questions."
Then press 2 "for all other questions."
- When it asks you to enter your SSN or EIN to access your account information, don't enter anything.
- After it asks twice, you will get another menu.

Press 2 for personal or individual tax questions.
Then press 4 for all other inquiries
It should then transfer you to an agent.
Or you can contact your local IRS office. See this IRS website for local IRS offices - http://www.irs.gov/uac/Contact-Your-Local-IRS-Office-1 or call 1-844-545-5640 to set up an appointment

Where’s my federal refund?

@ DoninGA  gave you the correct steps to reach the IRS (immediately above), but don't expect it to be easy.

If you filed your 2020 taxes and haven't received your refund, your experience is very common -  the IRS is encountering major delays in processing 2020 tax returns, and is almost impossible to reach by phone.

The IRS Where’s My Refund? site is still the best first place to go for information.

The IRS is not able to give you an exact date for receiving your refund. They can only give you the "expected" amount of time it takes for them to process it, but nothing more.

TurboTax has no ability to track your refund or influence how quickly it is processed - only the IRS can do that.

Everything the IRS has to say about refunds is at Tax Season Refund Frequently Asked Questions. If you read this carefully, you will see they are not making any promises.

Where’s my federal refund?

I have not gotten my tax refund as of this date.

I can not pay you the $200 until I get my return   I don't have the money.

Can you find out why I have not received my 2020 tax refund?

Where’s my federal refund?

The first thing you will want to do is to check your e-file status and if your return has been accepted, then you can check the IRS website.

The IRS issues most refunds from e-filed returns in about 21 days, although some returns take more time to review.    To find out where your refund is, first check your e-file status.   If it's been accepted, you can begin to track your refund at the IRS Where's My Refund? site.  You'll need your Social Security number or ITIN, filing status, and the exact amount of your refund to check your status.

If it has been more than 21 days since your e-filed return was accepted, you can call the IRS directly to check on your refund status.   TurboTax cannot provide any information on accepted returns.

The IRS issues refunds, not TurboTax. This means that we can't say for sure why you haven’t received your refund if it's been longer than 21 days since you e-filed.  You'll have to speak directly to IRS to find out more about the delay.

Where’s my federal refund?

@IRS I would like to know where is my refund its been awhile and turbo tax wants to get paid

Where’s my federal refund?

Sounds like the IRS is taking too long to send your refund or reduced it. See What if the IRS reduces your refund or delays it.
https://ttlc.intuit.com/community/payments/help/what-if-my-federal-refund-isn-t-enough-to-cover-my-t...

Then when the IRS does send your refund they won't take the fees out again.

And, Why you got charged,
https://ttlc.intuit.com/community/charges-and-fees/help/why-was-my-bank-account-auto-debited-for-tur...

You should have received about 4 emails asking for the fees. If you don't pay they will debit your account. You had to agree to it.

Where’s my federal refund?

Turbo Tax only gives you an estimated date. The IRS usually pays most refunds within 21 days. But these are not normal times. This year is taking the IRS longer to send the refunds. There are millions more people filing returns to get the Stimulus payment.

See this news article on Refunds being delayed

Only the IRS can tell you. If your return was Accepted then check IRS Where's my refund
