Did you efile or mail your return? They just started processing mailed returns that have been stacking up..
If you efiled....Was your return Accepted? First double check your efile status here
https://turbotax.intuit.com/tax-tools/efile-status-lookup/
When you efile you get back 2 emails. The first email only confirms the transmission. The second email says if the IRS (or state) Accepted or Rejected your efile.
Then only the IRS can tell you. IRS Where's my refund https://www.irs.gov/refunds/
Make sure you are using the refund amount from your actual federal tax return and not the combined amount Turbo Tax showed you at the end. That was for federal and state combined.
When you log into your account you should also see the status and if it was Accepted or Rejected, Started, Printed, Ready to Mail, etc. what does it say?
When will you get your refund,

If accepted by the IRS use the federal tax refund website to check the refund status - https://www.irs.gov/refunds
If accepted by the state use this TurboTax support FAQ to check the state tax refund status - https://ttlc.intuit.com/questions/1899433-how-do-i-track-my-state-refund
After the tax return has been Accepted by the IRS (meaning only that they received the return) it will be in the Processing mode until the tax refund has been Approved and then an Issue Date will be available on the IRS website.
See this IRS website for federal tax refund FAQ's - https://www.irs.gov/refunds/tax-season-refund-frequently-asked-questions
If over 21 days since being Accepted by the IRS and the tax refund is still Processing you can call the IRS and speak with an IRS agent concerning your tax refund.
Call the IRS: 1-800-829-1040 hours 7 AM - 7 PM local time Monday-Friday
When calling the IRS do NOT choose the first option re: "Refund", or it will send you to an automated phone line.
So after first choosing your language, then do NOT choose Option 1 (refund info). Choose option 2 for "personal income tax" instead.
Then press 1 for "form, tax history, or payment".
Then press 3 "for all other questions."
Then press 2 "for all other questions."
- When it asks you to enter your SSN or EIN to access your account information, don't enter anything.
- After it asks twice, you will get another menu.
Press 2 for personal or individual tax questions.
Then press 4 for all other inquiries
It should then transfer you to an agent.
It's been 18 weeks since the IRS received my paper filing (I sent it certified so I know the date they received it). Everyone else I know who filed paper returns have received their refunds or some correspondence from the IRS by now. I checked "Where's My Refund" online and there is no information listed. I know the IRS is understaffed, but I'm concerned that my return may have been lost. How can I check if they even have my return?

Use the procedure in the answer directly above your post to contact the IRS about your tax refund.
I actually reached someone at the IRS. They still have no record of my return in the system because the Fresno, CA office still has thousands of returns that haven't been processed. They said the timeframe for refunds for regular returns filed by April 15 has been extended to 6 weeks after August 1st.

Finally received my refund 22 weeks after filing: filed Apr 14, received refund Sep 10. So when the IRS says they're backed up they aren't kidding!
I E-filed My Taxes back in February And IRS keeps telling Me I Need To Verify Some Information
I have Now Requested to have my Taxes deposited in My Citi Bank Checking and Savings Account
I would Also like my Stimulus Payment deposited too Citi Bank Checking And Savings Account. I have a Citi Bank Priority Card and the Debit Card number is [phone number removed]2949
How did you request the new bank account info? You can't change it after you file. If the IRS can't deposit your refund to your account they will mail a check to the address on your return.
