Whats the HOLD UP???

So I have finally found out where my money is. After getting absolutely no satisfaction from Intuit I was able to get through to the IRS. After doing some research the IRS rep found out that Green Dot Bank is holding on to my money and have been since February 12th. After a mixup with my routing number my bank sent it back and GDB was supposed to send it to the IRS so I could get a paper check. Green Dot Bank has been holding it for four months!! GDP makes it very difficult to contact them so I filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau. They have 25 days to respond. I will be filing one against Intuit as well.

Whats the HOLD UP???

@MaryD0622 @Have you gotten it yet?? I’m still waiting on both my Tax Return and my Stimulus. Should I use the Non-Filers tool on the IRS website if I filed last years tax return this year and it was under $12,200? I just don’t wanna mess it up and screw up the processing and end up receiving it even later. Please help

Whats the HOLD UP???

If you have already filed a 2019 return do NOT file another thru the non filer tool ... this will only make things worse and delay things longer.

Whats the HOLD UP???

I field my 2019 taxes on February 25 and it was accepted the same day. I've been trying to reach someone at the irs to get some kind of information as to why it's still being processed. It's been 2 months of processing. WTF!! I can't talk to a person to save my life. I got my stimulus check. Oh and TurboTax can't do anything to help me. All they say is contact the irs. So next year I won't use turbotax... This has been the worst experience.  I want a email or phone number to someone that will tell me what's going on. Where is my check!!!!! Everyone I know has gotten there refund and spent it.... If anyone can please help me I would appreciate it. I have 4 kids that need this money... Thank you

Once a tax return has been Accepted by the IRS or a State, TurboTax receives no further information concerning the tax return or the status of any tax refund.  Only the taxpayer listed on the tax return can obtain the status of a tax refund or a tax return.

Call the IRS: 1-800-829-1040 hours 7 AM - 7 PM local time Monday-Friday
When calling the IRS do NOT choose the first option re: "Refund", or it will send you to an automated phone line.
So after first choosing your language, then do NOT choose Option 1 (refund info). Choose option 2 for "personal income tax" instead.
Then press 1 for "form, tax history, or payment".
Then press 3 "for all other questions."
Then press 2 "for all other questions."
- When it asks you to enter your SSN or EIN to access your account information, don't enter anything.
- After it asks twice, you will get another menu.

Press 2 for personal or individual tax questions.
Then press 4 for all other inquiries
It should then transfer you to an agent.

Or you may want to contact a Taxpayer Advocate in your area. See this IRS website for Taxpayer Advocate in your area and a toll free number - http://www.irs.gov/Advocate/Local-Taxpayer-Advocate

Whats the HOLD UP???

@calderia2468-

Waiting is frustrating—refunds are taking longer in many cases.  These are not normal times.  It is not possible for TurboTax to speed up the IRS for you.   They are short staffed; and they are processing millions of tax returns at the same time that they have been burdened with the task of processing millions of stimulus checks.

IRS phone lines supported by customer service representatives for both taxpayers and tax professionals are not staffed at this time. To check on regular tax refund status via automated phone, call 800-829-1954. (This line has no information on Economic Impact Payments.)

https://turbotax.intuit.com/tax-tools/efile-status-lookup/

TurboTax gives you an estimated date for receiving your refund based on a 21 day average from your date of acceptance, but it can take longer.  Many refunds are taking longer during the pandemic.

Once your federal return has been accepted by the IRS, only the IRS has any control. TurboTax does not receive any updates from the IRS. Your ONLY source of information about your refund now is the IRS.

You need your filing status, your Social Security number and the exact amount  (line 20 of your Form 1040) of your federal refund to track your Federal refund:

To track your state refund:

If you chose to have your TurboTax fees deducted from your federal refund, that will take some extra time, while the third party bank handles the refund processing.

Whats the HOLD UP???

I have something to say about this statement,If you chose to have your TurboTax fees deducted from your federal refund, that will take some extra time, while the third party bank handles the refund processing.... Well they need to stick to that agreement then, instead of going to my bank account and trying to get the money I owe them" that I made an agreement to have them take their fees out of my refund" and now I can't even use my debit card cause my bank put ahold on my card cause TurboTax went behind my back and tried getting their money that way instead of waiting for my refund to come to their third party to take out TurboTaxs money and then send my refund to my bank. So I have went all weekend with out being able to get to my money that was deposited by unemployment finally. I couldn't go food shopping or anything all because of their greed and cuz they couldn't even bind by their own agreement. This is bull**bleep** and I will never use TurboTax again n I will make sure everyone knows this and I will be contacting the better business bureau thank you for nothing TurboTax

Whats the HOLD UP???

@Jarboe1005 What happened with your fees was unfortunate--but did you not pay attention to the fact that you agreed to let TT take its fees out of your account if your refund took longer than normal?   When you chose to have your fees deducted, you signed an agreement to just that.  You would have received a series of emails alerting you to the debit, and you could have called to ask to delay it.

TURBOTAX TOOK MONEY OUT OF MY BANK ACCOUNT

Did you choose to have your TurboTax fees deducted from your federal refund?  Is your refund taking an unusually long time to arrive?  Or was your refund seized to pay a debt you owed? if so, you signed an agreement that says TT can withdraw its fees from your account.  TurboTax would have sent several emails to you before they took the money out of your account.
