Whats the HOLD UP???

so what do we do to keep Turbo from taking money? And do they give it back when they get paid AGAIN from the IRS???

I agree but if Turbo is authorized to get paid from refund and then prepares to debit from my checking account because the refund is delayed - do we have assurance that they will not get paid twice?

Sounds like the IRS is taking too long to send your refund or reduced it. See What if the IRS reduces your refund or delays it.
https://ttlc.intuit.com/community/payments/help/what-if-my-federal-refund-isn-t-enough-to-cover-my-t...

Then when the IRS does send your refund they won't take the fees out again.

And, Why you got charged,
https://ttlc.intuit.com/community/charges-and-fees/help/why-was-my-bank-account-auto-debited-for-tur...

You should have received about 4 emails asking for the fees. If you don't pay they will debit your account. You had to agree to it.

Whats the HOLD UP???

It has been almost 3 months since I have filed. They have already tried to charge my empty account twice. I have yet to receive my refund. I am a military vet going to school out of the country and they just sent me an e-mail to attempt to charge again. From my understanding, I was supposed to be charged on the 18th of June 2021 when my taxes were supposed to be deposited. Nothing, now I am negative which will be taken out of my Disability when it gets deposited which in this pandemic I need every dime to pay bills and tuition. I am right there with you and feel your frustration. Nothing was supposed to be charged until I got my taxes. I have nothing and have been charged twice! soon a third according to the E-mail I just recieved.

Sorry you're having all that trouble.  There have been incredibly long delays at the IRS this year for a number of reasons.   This is a user community forum, not a direct route to TurboTax Support, but we can tell you some things to do.

Where did you get the date of June 18 for your refund deposit?   Is that what is showing at this IRS website "Where's My Refund" tool?

https://www.irs.gov/refunds

If so, and if the IRS has actually sent the funds, they go first to an intermediary bank, a process managed by SBTPG (Tax Products Group.)    If the funds have left the IRS, you can use SBTPG's refund lookup tool at the SBTPG website.  To log in, choose the "For taxpayers" portal at:
https://www.sbtpg.com/

then choose "Check with TPG."

If the auto-debits caused any NSF fees (non-sufficient funds fees),  you have some recourse in regard to the bank overdraft charges.  You can talk to TurboTax Support and tell them, and they'll tell you how to document the NSF fees.    It's also possible to ask for a deferment for the upcoming bank debit.

Are you able to phone TurboTax Support in the USA from your country?   If you can't reach them by phone, I'll also leave a way below to reach them through Twitter or Facebook.

If you chose to pay your TurboTax fees out of your Federal refund, and if your Federal refund has been delayed unusually long at the IRS (or if it's been reduced), after a certain number of days TurboTax will want to be paid.  They likely started sending you emailed bills to pay.  If you don't respond by either paying or asking for a deferment, they will ultimately debit your bank account.  If you wish to ask for a deferment, you need to do so quickly.

See this FAQ that explains the process.  The first paragraph of the FAQ has a special phone number if you have a question or have a hardship and need to ask for a deferment.

Hours are 5AM-5 PM Pacific (8AM-8PM Eastern),  Mon-Fri.

If you need to ask for a deferment, you should call them as soon as possible.  Once they actually start the debit process, they say they can't stop it.  Depending on when your auto debit is scheduled, it could possibly be too late, but can't hurt to try anyway.

FAQ:  Why was my bank account auto-debited for the TurboTax fees?

https://ttlc.intuit.com/community/charges-and-fees/help/why-was-my-bank-account-auto-debited-for-tur...

The first paragraph there says:

If you’re in need of assistance, call us by the Tuesday prior to your debit date at 1-888-808-1723 to speak with a trained specialist and mention “auto-debit”, or visit TurboTax Support.

If you can't phone the USA from your country, you can contact a TurboTax Support agent for free directly via messaging at Twitter or Facebook.

Just a word of warning -

Regardless of which tax preparation software vendor you use, if you are offered the option to pay the account fees from a tax refund, they all will have caveats in the agreement where they can access your account to pay for the fees if the refund is reduced or delayed.

So do NOT use that option.  Pay for the account fees up front with a credit or debit card so this situation will Never arise.
