Has this issue been resolved?
I'm having this issue with my son's short form. He's a student with a part time job.
His taxes should be simple. This is so frustrating!

If you imported the 1099-Int, try deleting it and re-entering it manually. Here's How to Update or Delete Imported Data.
If you Continue past this screen, do you get the question about 'Did you receive interest payments from a seller-financed mortgage?'
Another user posting above then went back to the interest section, and checkboxes were correct.
I got the same situation after importing a 1099-INT and 1099-DIV. I deleted the form as someone suggested and the issue still there. How can I trust that all the calculations and everything else from that point on are correct at this point?
I would like to take a deeper look at this. However, I need a diagnostic file which is a copy of your tax return that has all of your personal information removed. You can send one to us by following the directions below:
TurboTax Online:
TurboTax Desktop/Download Versions:
*(If using a MAC, go to the menu at the top of the screen, select Help, then, “Send Tax File to Agent”)
Please tell me which states you have in your return so I can open the file.
This issue must have been resolved in one of the latest software updates. I haven't been able to reproduce this error anymore.
Thanks,
Bill
Using TurboTax Home and Business 2024 for PC with March 6 updates applied.
This issue is not fixed for my version.
To repeat from an earlier post,
Go to: Federal Taxes > Wages & Income > Other Interest and Dividends
In this section, there are 3 boxes. None of the first two apply to my situation so I only want to check the last option "None of the above." Unfortunately, the second choice already has a checkmark in the box and it cannot be removed. I can select the last option "None of the above" but the second option still stays selected.
I have no seller-financed loan and no 1098 form.
I deleted the form and reloaded interest and dividends. This error is still there for our two tax returns.
This is a bug in the application that requires a patch. Please report it.
To clarify, has it been resolved as of today?
Yes. It's okay now. I kept trying to clear it with no success. Later, I came back to Interest and Dividends and ran the step-by-step and the checkbox was gone. Thanks for asking.
I'll have to check later this weekend once I get back home
I'm getting the same error as well. I don't have a 1099-INT form to delete. The check box that appears is on the screen that follows the one that lists what your total capital gains are. Heading is Other Interest and Dividends. The checkbox next to interest payments from seller-financed loans CANNOT be unchecked. Please refer to photo below. I don't see the corresponding form to uncheck manually on the form either. Please advise.
I just encountered the same thing using Home & Business, and just ran updates today. The seller-financed mortgage box was prechecked and couldn't be unchecked. However, I was also able to check "None of the above" and the return successfully passed federal review and final review.
I am reporting that this is still an issue; however, you should be able to continue to file as long as it doesn't stop the review process. It could be that it only appears in some versions of TurboTax.
I tried again last night after updating to latest available update and created a fake new return and only entering my w2 and the 1099 div from my credit union and still is doing it. My concern is related as to how can I trust the calculations that happening on the background are really accurate?
I am wondering the same thing .
With all these complaints why isn't any of the updates fixing this issue?
No it hasn't
