I'm not sure where the check mark is, but you may be able to delete the form and start over.
On the menu bar on the left.
I'm having the very same issue and can't clear.
You should be able to Delete Form 1099-INT from your return. If you're using TurboTax Online, close the program, clear your Cache and Cookies and re-try.
If you imported 1099's, here's How to Update or Delete Imported Data.
Appreciate the responses but not sure how deleting a form will help. INT and Didv were imported forms and if I delete and add them back the same thing is going to happen I would expect. The issue is that TT has automatically checked the 1st 2 boxes under the selection other interst and dividends that relate to income from discounted loans and interets payment from a seller financed mortage neither of which apply. It will not allow us to uncheck those boxes. When you check the none of these apply it does not uncheck the discounted loans and seller financed mortages boxes.
It appears to be a glitch on the TT software. Seems like every year some glitch happens with TT.
the question is how do we uncheck these boxes so that the only box checked is none of these apply.
I'm having the same issue. This seems to be a software bug is there a number to call to report this?
Can you state where in the program you see these choices with the checkboxes already checked?
It would seem these relate to imported data.
For INT/DIV income from the same payer, you can make one entry for the total amount manually in these sections and delete the imported INT/DIV info.
Here's how to Contact TurboTax Support.
Federal Taxes > Wages & Income > Other Interest and Dividends
In this section, there are 3 boxes. I've listed them below. None of the first two apply to my situation so I only want to check the last option "None of the above" but the second choice already has a checkmark in the box and I can't remove it. I can select the last option "None of the above" but the second option still stays selected.
[] Received income from discounted loans or had foreign bank accounts or trusts.
[] Received interest payments from a seller-financed mortgage. This is interest that is paid to you. Do not check this box for interest you paid to someone else (such as interest reported to you on Form 1098). THIS BOX IS CHECKED AND I CAN'T UNCHECK IT IN THE APPLICATION.
[] None of the above.
Hope that helps
Yes this is what I was talking about.
Is turbo tax going to fix this issue?
This box is checked on all 4 returns that I am completing and it should not be. It will allow me to check and uncheck the other two boxes but not that one. Frustrating…
I just encountered the same issue. I checked the 'None of the Above' checkbox. The checkbox above, I could not uncheck. However when I clicked Continue, I was prompted with the question: Did you receive interest payments from a seller-financed mortgage?
I answered No.
Then I went back and revisited the section and the checkboxes were correct.
Cheers!
I never received this message. I did open a call yesterday and the representative was able to see my screen and the issue. She was opening a software defect ticket to hopefully get this resolved.
Let's hope they get it fixed
I would like to take a deeper look at this. However, I need a diagnostic file which is a copy of your tax return that has all of your personal information removed. You can send one to us by following the directions below:
TurboTax Online:
TurboTax Desktop/Download Versions:
*(If using a MAC, go to the menu at the top of the screen, select Help, then, “Send Tax File to Agent”)
When I contacted TurboTax support they gathered this information (although listening to the support person there wasn't anything in the diagnostic file when she had me generate it). She was opening a case on the matter.
Interesting observation, I had the issue happen again today. I shutdown TurboTax and then relaunched the application and the issue wasn't there. So it's an intermittent issue since I've been working on my taxes for about a week now, and each time I'm done a save my work and shutdown the application and turn of my laptop.
