Tax return not being accepted by IRS

Both my Federal and State returns were rejected because they said I did not have the correct AGI from 2019. I refiled using the AGI on my 2019 tax returns done by Turbo Tax and they still say that it's wrong....so I am appealing to Turbo Tax for help if I could find a phone number to call. Turbo Tax says they will help but I sure am not finding how......

See this TurboTax FAQ on how to find your AGI

https://ttlc.intuit.com/replies/3301618

You can get free 2019 tax transcript from the IRS

https://www.irs.gov/individuals/get-transcript

If you filed late last year there is a good chance that the 2019 AGI never was entered into the e-file database. Try using 0 (zero) for the AGI.

If you filed an amended return use the AGI on the first filed tax return.

If it continues to reject then the AGI in the IRS database might be in error. Mail filing is the only option.

Tax return not being accepted by IRS

My Federal return was e-filed on May 5th. I have paid TurboxTax, however, my return is still in "Federal Return Pending." It has now been 6 weeks. I need to validate somehow that my return was SUBMITTED and why it has been in pending status for the last 6 weeks. You can't speak to a human at TurboTax or the IRS currently. How am I supposed to ensure my refund will be accepted by the IRS. Somebody, please help!

It says "Federal Return Pending"

You can check the IRS refund site to see if it was actually filed.

Check your state refund here:

If not there either then nobody in this user forum can look at your account, only customer service can.

There is no single published number because it changes contently depending on the nature of the call and agent availability. Following the link below will either give a current number for you to call or take your number for a callback.

Here is a TurboTax FAQ for contacting customer support.

Tax return not being accepted by IRS

The IRS site has nothing pertaining to my filing status, I have tried that. I am also not getting a refund, rather owe money.

I have called the number you have provided. I have used the TurboTax site chatbot asking to speak to an agent. I have reviewed this same FAQ article you provided. Every scenario leads me to speak to a machine asking the same questions with the end result telling me they have no information to provide and the call ends. I need to speak with a human at TurboTax who can access my account and verify where my Federal Tax filing stands.

if you have taxes owed and you e-filed your tax return, the IRS will not have a status of your tax return or the status of your payment.

You need to verify that you e-filed your tax return.

To check the status of an e-filed return, open up your desktop product or log into your TurboTax Online Account. You can find your status within the TurboTax product.

For an online tax return sign onto your online account - https://myturbotax.intuit.com/

The status of the federal tax return will be shown.  If the status is Accepted then the federal tax return was e-filed and Accepted by the IRS.

IF Accepted by the IRS, you will need to verify how you chose to pay the taxes owed.

Look at the Federal Filing Instructions page when using Print Center to view, print or download your tax return.

To access your current or prior year online tax returns sign onto the TurboTax website with the User ID you used to create the account - https://myturbotax.intuit.com/

When you sign onto your online account and land on the Tax Home web page, scroll down and click on Add a state.

This will take you back to the 2020 online tax return.

Click on Tax Tools on the left side of the online program screen.  Then click on Print Center.  Then click on Print, save or preview this year's return.  Choose the option Include government and TurboTax worksheets

If you owe, how where you paying?  Was the payment processed?

Calling that number or using the website should get you to a human if you are calling during normal business hours as shown in the FAQ.

Tax return not being accepted by IRS

As I had mentioned, it is not showing that it has been "Accepted" however it is showing "Federal Return Pending." Does this mean that it was not submitted? It does at this point state "Federal Return Transmitted."

Once transmitted it should be accepted or rejected usually within 15-30 minutes, but can take as long as 24 hours.    Sometimes it is actually accepted but the status never changes which is why you can check on the IRS refund site, but that is only if you are getting  a refund.    If you owe and entered a bank account number to pay with direct debt then if the payment was taken by the IRS you can be sure that they received it.

"Transmitted" means it was sent to the IRS, but the IRS has never responded with a reject or acceptance.
