Hi,
I'm over the limit for social security 2021 which is 142,800 but IRS continues to take social security tax from my paychecks, what can I do to stop paying for the SS tax on every paycheck? I understand that IRS may give me a refund back on the overpaid SS tax when I file for tax next year, but I want them to stop take $$$ from my paycheck now. Any suggestions, please!

The IRS does not withhold Social Security taxes.
It is your employer that withholds the SS taxes so you need to ask your employer why they continue to withhold the taxes if you are above the maximum of $142,800 SS wages in 2021.
Thank you! I will reach out to my employer.
And you can not get it back from the IRS unless you had 2 or more jobs and went over the max combined. If you only have 1 job you have to get it back from the employer.
By the way, Only Social Security has a max. You still pay the Medicare part, no max. They both might be combined as one deduction called FICA.
