Mine says the same bars disappeared and it says processing and will give a date when available 🤦‍♀️ I know other people who did there taxes through other tax products and got there refunds so what is turbo tax doing with our refunds ????

Level 2

Same, same here still processing, topic 152 it was due on the third of March. What I am being told is if you have any amount on line 30 it clicks to error and don't expect a refund for 8 to 10 weeks. So I am screwed as I am sure one of the many that figured it would be the usual refund time and took care of items on to do list.

Only the IRS can give you any information about the processing of an accepted tax return and they do not share processing information with us, unfortunately.   If you spoke with 2 people at the IRS that saw no issues with your return, I suggest contacting a taxpayer advocate if you do not hear something soon.  Other IRS contact information can be found here.

The Taxpayer Advocate Service is an independent organization within the IRS and is your voice at the IRS.  Their job is to ensure that every taxpayer is treated fairly and that you know and understand your rights.   They offer free help to guide you through the often-confusing process of resolving tax problems that you haven't been able to solve on your own. Remember, the worst thing you can do is nothing at all.

TAS can help if you can't resolve your problem with the IRS and:

  • Your problem is causing financial difficulties for you, your family, or your business.
  • You face (or your business is facing) an immediate threat of adverse action.
  • You've tried repeatedly to contact the IRS but no one has responded to you, or the IRS hasn't responded by the date promised.  You said they told you 10 weeks, so you may need to wait that time period before contacting TAS.    @smitty152473

This is awful.  You cant get a hold of a person to figure out what is going on and you cant make an appointment to talk to someone as the voice mails are full.  I just want my money.  I didnt receive the 2nd stimulus and now I cant even get that on my refund.  Thanks IRS

There are a lot of delays for federal refunds this year. The IRS is working overtime to get stimulus payments sent out to you and process your tax returns. Per the IRS website IRS Operations During COVID-19: Mission-critical functions continue: Please visit here and see all services that have slowed down or been delayed due to Covid-19.

Once your tax return has been submitted, the most up to date information will come from the IRS. The IRS releases most refunds within 21 calendar days after the e-filed return has been accepted (received), not 21 days from the e-filing date.

@Shellnwayne

The IRS says that it will issue 9 out of 10 refunds to taxpayers in less than 21 days.  However, if:

  • You have e-filed your 2020 Federal tax return,
  • You are claiming a Recovery Rebate Credit (RRC) on line 30 of the 2020 1040 tax return, and
  • Your tax return has been accepted by the IRS.

We suspect that the IRS will scrutinize stimulus payments that were issued against the tax returns that claim the Recovery Rebate Credit.  We do not know how much delay that the IRS will incur in such cases.

Implementation of the American Rescue Plan will further strain the resources of the IRS.  IRS live phone assistance is extremely limited at this time.  For stimulus payment questions, call 800-919-9835.

What does this mean in simpler terms?

Level 2
March 11, 2021

From what i understand it means check your tax return if you have anything on line 30 you refund will be about 3 to 6 months.

Mine said exact same thing, now the bar is gone and is states,

Your tax return is still being processed.

A refund date will be provided when available.

So I finally got through to IRS person after 2 hours waiting . They said that it is either being reviewed for hold, or it will be released.  She looked into everything she could and said the hold review board is holding it to decide if they need more info, or if they are going to release it. ...UHGG.. She gave me no dates, or any other info. She said I had to wait 10 WEEKS!... Then they MIGHT send me a letter if they need more info and that could take another 6-10 weeks... This is CRAZY, I have done me taxes Same way Every year. I have always received my returns within 2 weeks.. I understand they are back logged, but this is crazy.. And by the way this happened to my  friend  and she just received 2019 return  in December. they gave her 83.00 for interest since they held her money for so long.. Please reply back if you are having the same issue and you get your refund, or the irs wheres my refund page changes for you.. thank you

Mine was saying the same thing since the 1st week of March,  but to my surprise it finally updated on Saturday.  My status bar reappeared and my refund finally approved and a deposit date posted.   I requested an account transcript and spoke with someone over the phone. A few days later i received a positive update

I filed and return was accepted 2/22. It says received/still processing. Now it's one month later. Last year it took about 2 weeks. Also, I have an amount on line 30 that I think is actually the correct amount. It is reassuring to know others are in the same boat. But...very annoying.

I did have an amount  on line 30. I assumed that since I received my second stimulus check in 2021, that I wouldn't include it on 2020 taxes. Go figure. I wonder how many other people have done this? I'm not sure if what I did was correct or not.

At this point if I knew the rebate was going to drag returns out 8 to 10 weeks or more, the crap 300 it rebated is going to cost me 4 times the amount from not getting just the regular return. Yes I bet my return would be normal date as usual and took care of a lot of things I should of waited on to make sure the return was back first. On the other hand I did have deposit aligned for 3/3, then all went blank and processing nonsense date will be posted once processed with topic 152 bs.

Oh well need stimulus bad now.

It has been 4 weeks since the IRS received my 2020 Tax Forms via Turbo Tax and I have not received my refund.  It did include the second stimulus payment of $600.  I received my 2019 refund in two weeks.  I am concerned about the delay.  How do we get a straight answer on the status of our refunds? I just get the message that it is being processed and a date will be provided when available.

@Chefkt

The Consolidated Appropriations Act, 2021 was signed into law on December 27, 2020.  The legislation includes $900 billion for various COVID-19 relief programs, government funding of $1.4 trillion and many, many tax provision changes.  The American Rescue Plan will soon be signed into law and its legislation includes $1.9 billion for COVID-19 relief programs and many more tax provision changes.

I'm in the same boat.  Filed both mine and my Mom's returns via Turbo Tax on 2/18 and both were immediately accepted by the IRS.  My Mom had a simple return with no deductions and received her refund within a week.  My return is substantially more complex and it has now been over three weeks stuck at "received."  No amount on line 30.

Yes my stuff does the same thing and I can’t figure on how in gods name to get in touch with the irs. I’ll call a hundred times a day to get cut off.then if I do get someone somehow they say they have no clearance to my info

My is saying the same thing and I filled on February 10 and it says excepted on TurboTax on the 13 of February and I had Direct deposit on it.. I haven’t even gotten my third stimulus check yet either.. maybe Irs is low on employees because of COVID I don’t know but I know before this I always gotten my taxes in like 2 weeks not a whole month going on 2 months now..

Just chiming in. I filed via TurboTax on Feb 12, got a rejection due to software error Feb 15, re-filed and IRS accepted on Feb 17. I did claim the $600 on line 30 as I never got it in Dec/Jan. Now...no refund, no $600, no $1400. No useful info from IRS online on Refund or Payment sites. This is thousands of dollars we were counting on to help us pay off some of the debt we have accrued the past year. WTF?
