Ok I E-filed and IRS accepted it on the 1/22/20 I thought was wired because they said they was not a accepting until the 27th. I looked at where’s my refund on the 1/25/20 it had one bar said was accepted. On 2/5/20 it went to the PATH act and stayed like that until 2/16/20 Message changed to we received your refund and is processing no bars nothing. My turbo tax says refund expected on 2/12/20 obviously that didn’t happen been way past 21 days. Has anyone else have this problem?

Yes I am also having this problem... I filed and everything was accepted January 21st, received a notification saying February 11th was my expected refund date... and too nothing came. Today marks the 21st day since my return was accepted so I guess I'll check again by the end of the day.. if not idk what's going on... smh

Actually! Your at day 4 ! EIC customers started Feb 15 2020. 1-3 Weeks after this date but hopefully, depending on when you filed.  DDD should be Saturday 2-22-2020 and filers who filed after 2-3-2020 should get threr refund Saturday 2-29-2020. WMR WILL UPDATE THIS SATURDAY 2-22-2020!!! SO even if you do not get your refund this Sat.  WMR will update and give you a DDD.  Hope this gives SOMEONE so hope!!!THEY ARE SAYING: YOU WILL GET YOUR REFUND(dd) BEFORE wmr UPDATES!!!

What is the path act?

Level 3
February 23, 2020

Path Act was implemented in 2017. It protects from fraud. They get more time to look over. And basically they get to check that no one else claimed your kids and you didnt make a mistake. Make sure you read it. It pretty specific and can explain way better but it protects from fraud. On both sides.

I have also experience the same thing , it has been way past 21 days, and I check my status and it says still being processed!

Have any of you that have been over 21 days called?

Yep. Can't talk to a human. Get the freaking automated crap.

Yes.  I filed on January 8th.  My return was part of a test batch accepted on January 13th.    And my refund status says the same thing.  The bar is gone and just says processing.   By their calculations I should have been one of the first refunds issued.   But I've only recieved my state

When do states come out

Level 2

@BMA1...it appears that instead of 9 out of 10 getting their refunds within 21 days, it's the 9 out of 10 that are getting delayed because of the 1095A/8962 issue.  I have had problems with both my federal and state this year.  The federal was the 1095A/8962 that was never transmitted by TurboTax and with the state I received an electronic communication that they needed all my W2s because they needed to verify my income.  Through the help of an advocate I got my federal less than 4 weeks after I got the same disappearing bars when it approached time for my refund to be processed on 02/17, but even with them you have to be persistent.  Escalate!  Escalate!  Escalate!  As far as the state after I added the W2s to my account electronically, I was told via email and on the phone that it could take up to 90 days to get that refund.  Also, you don't have to get nasty with the IRS agent but they can tell you the exact reason why your refund is being delayed and what is in the letter.  I did not wait for the letter.  The day after I did not get my refund I called the IRS, got the information including the fax number to send my copies of the 1095A/8962 and it was the IRS that suggested my case be referred to a tax advocate.  In these times yelling and screaming at agents will not get you anywhere but clear, calm communication with them will.  If there is anybody we should all be getting mad with it should be these tax software companies because it seems that all of them dropped the ball with their faulty program which resulted in this issue that the majority of its users are having.

I did everything just like you and now it is just a waiting game. I got my state with in 2 weeks with no problem.

Yes. It's been 21 days here, automatic deposit. Did we get ripped off from someone assuming the identity of Turbo Tax?

Read the excellent response from @Critter above your post.

There are millions of taxpayers who do NOT receive their tax refund within the 21 day IRS target window.

  • I have the same. The Irs is saying will have update on the 22nd  and would have return by end of next week/first part of March pending no other issues

Called this morning. Was told some people have to get paid first, some get paid last. Could take up to March. I find that a crock because I filed before it was open. I saw somewhere it said refunds will be sent no later than the 22nd. Hoping for that

What has me confused is my partner claimed our son and I claim our other so he is part of the PACT act but got his on 02/05/2020 and we filed the same day. However, I filed with Turbo Tax and he filed online with H&R block.

I know, usually I file with hrblock on the DIY website, but I think they have a better “final review” software, because all of us here used turbo tax this year and are all having different issues. Upon looking over our tax files I caught a few mistakes that should have been caught and pointed out to us upon filing, as they do at the end prior to completion and filing. Like the child dependent address being different than the filer. Because their w2’s were imported and all the information was brought with it. Their address which was entered manually at the start of their filing is the current address, however on a portion of the files it lists the old address under his dependents, which must of been from the w2 info that was imported. When the last over view was offered prior to submitting the file, there was no indication of the old address, nor did the turbo tax “checking for mistakes” over view catch it. Now he’s being asked to forward documents to confirm that his dependents eligibility. Which in reality they are and he does support and live in like address. But according to the tax eligibility requirements he technically doesn’t meet the criteria. He has claimed them every other year for the last 6, 7 years but because this technical error, it’s being tested. Now we can submit all requested documents, but will they deny his dependent claim? It’s my fiancé, which we lived together for almost 8 years. I let him claim my son and my niece every other year since my niece lives with us and we are their sole providers, but because they’re neither blood related, nor related by legal marriage. That does not fall under the qualifications which the IRS requires, for dependent credits, EITC etc... Which we are only learning this, now. It’s very annoying, because I would of claimed them had I knew this would be an issue. I should of stuck with hrblock. Never had an issue filing on there fee DIY site. 😕😕

I filed the same day as you and ran into the same thing.

If you claimed kids then it started for the 21 days as of Feb 15 when they took off the path
