The IRS is backlogged and is not able to process returns as quickly as they have been able to process them in normal times. They do want your payment and will debit your account when they process your return—it just might not happen on the date you requested. Keep the funds available in your account and watch for the withdrawal.
I filed my return on 4/8/2021 with the payment being debited to my account on 4/8/2021. I received the return accepted by the IRS email from TurboTax, but the payment has still not been debited to my account. When I looked online (I can't get through to speak with anyone at the IRS) it does not show my 2020 return or any scheduled payment. Is the delay still plausible for the 4/8/2021 date?
I came here with a similar question. I filed via TurboTax on April 12th, and my Federal return was accepted the same day. However, the payment has not been taken from my bank account. Is there a way to double-check the payment date and information I provided? How can I be sure that my payment info was provided for an electronic payment and they are not waiting for a check?
Thank you, @xmasbaby0 ! That was exactly what I was looking for.
