My refund was accepted on the Feb 1 and my bars are now missing and it says your refund is still processing your refund date will be provided when available is this ok?

I am going through the same thing, I've never been flagged. My bars are gone. I filed in early Jan, and got accepted 1/28 and bars disappeared last week. It just say that my return is processing. But I also received my return last year on the 27th, and I claim one dependent.

The IRS states:

WHERE’S MY REFUND STATUS BARS DISAPPEARED

"We have gotten many comments and messages regarding the IRS Where’s My Refund Tool having your orange status bar disappearing. This has to do with the irs.gov where’s my refund site having too much traffic and lagging. This is causing images not to display and information about your federal tax return to not show up. This has happened every year since the tool was first available. This has nothing to do with you being flagged or your return being denied. Status Bars Disappeared for many Americans who filed early.

This also can have to do with your browser settings as well as your cache. Please try using a different browser such as Chrome or Firefox. Also, clear your cache in your browser settings."

@daniellucas12  Have you got a date yet or is it still saying being processed updates are nice thanks! 🙂

If you checked where's my refund over the weekend you would have seen a notice stating that they are now processing refunds that contain the EIC or extra child tax credit or that they expected to begin processing them on the 17th. The orange bars disappearance not mean that you are selected for manual review or flag in any reason. In fact it's more likely that the orange bar just disappeared because of 21 days have expired.

When checking on the status of your refund at the IRS Where's My Refund (WMR) site, you may get the message: We cannot provide any information about your refund. You must wait at least 24 hours after you get the acknowledgment e-mail that your tax return was received by the IRS.

You might receive this message because:

  • Your e-filed return was accepted (received) by the IRS less than 24 hours ago. Wait at least 24 hours after acceptance before using WMR.
  • Your return is still pending.
  • You never e-filed. You can quickly find out if you did by checking your status.
  • If you don't see a status, go through the TurboTax File section again. Be sure to go all the way to the end and select Transmit my returns now.
  • You mailed your return less than 4 weeks ago. Paper-filers should wait four weeks before using WMR.

Call [phone number removed] DO NOT SELECT any language option. Wait for the automated voice to stop or ask for a 3 digit code then enter 652 and prepare for a with unless you call bright and early or just before 5. What I found out for my sister was that on 3/9/2020 a letter will be sent stating her taxes are on hold for 45 days and after that, it could be held even longer. Hope you get better news.

@ITZMIE Don't be to sure hun, I was told the same thing, but when I called again was told a different thing. Both people seemed unsure to be honest. I think they're telling everyone that to prevent from calling. I follow the facebook page, and this year it seems everyone is being told that. One person told me I was under a 60 day review or a possible audit and had to wait in the mail for a letter to arrive which should had arrive any day now. (didnt get it) And the other person told me i was under a 45 day random review that could fix it self, but a letter would also be sent. I tried to ask her if a notice could be sent for making transcript account but she cut me off and said any other questions?! lol. It's the waiting game. Hopefully we get good news soon.

The longer i have to wait on IRS TO DO THEIR JOB the more complaints i make to the Department of Treasury on their lack of professionalism. I understand that they are understaffed and all but there is no excuse for misinformed employees at IRS to not do their job as a governmental organization. The longer i gotta wait the more pissed i get and the more i contact Department of Treasury to inform them Of IRS' negligence. Trust me the more you complain the more they are prone to do what they're supposed to do.

Can I please have that phone number you called for the Department of Treasury or the back office of the IRS so you can actually talk to someone? I'm so tired of all the back and forth and no one knows what the heck is going on. They need to come up with a better disbursement system. The IRS is quick to seize and Collect but what about all the people who pay their taxes all year and have to wait for the IRS to get their stuff in order but want our tax money right away! They need to be held accountable just the same!

@ITZMIE  Can you send me the Phone number you listed on the chat forum Please I'm guessing the forum deleted it from being public

I am VERY sure. I contacted the advocates within the IRS by faxing form 911.  They confirmed what I was told was true and why. Turns out, I had not filed with all my W2's and that the one I did file with they had no record of. I have since completed a 1040-X  the TT and, mailed it off 2 days ago. But the correction entitled me to an even larger refund in the long run.
