is Turbotax efile status accurate?

I had just efiled both fed and state, and was told by turbotax online to wait for email confirmation for accept or reject.  When I checked turbotax online account it says "federal return transmitted 3/25/2021" and with "federal return accepted 3/27/2021".  So does this mean my efile got accepted?

Did you e-file?  Did you click a big orange button that said “Transmit my returns now?”

When you e-file your federal return you will receive two emails from TurboTax.  The first one will say that your return was submitted.  The second email will tell you if your federal return was accepted or rejected.  If you e-filed a state return, there will be a third email to tell you if the state accepted or rejected your state return.

First, check your e-file status to see if your return was accepted:

If the IRS accepted it, what does it say here?

https://www.irs.gov/refunds

Or does your account say “Ready to Mail?”

Note:  If it says “Ready to Mail” or “Printed” that means YOU have to mail it yourself.  TurboTax does not mail your tax return for you.

is Turbotax efile status accurate?

I have the CD version.  When I open the app and click the status of my efile it says both the State and Federal were accepted BUT I only received an email from Turbo Tax saying the State was accepted.  When my daughter opens the app, it says both the State and Federal were accepted BUT she did not receive any emails from TurboTax confirming this.   What does this mean? How do we know if they were or were not accepted?  Thank you.

Well I can tell you that Federal was Accepted if State was.  You can't efile state unless the federal was Accepted first.  Don't know why you and her didn't get emails.  Maybe the email address was entered wrong.  Check your email spam folder or trash.  Maybe they got deleted.

is Turbotax efile status accurate?

Thanks. My email is correct because TT emailed the State confirmation to me, they just did not email the Federal tax confirmation. I checked my spam etc. So that is why I was nervous.

As for my daughter - where is the email address you entered listed in TT on the CD version of the return / in the account so she can check her email address?

I don't know.  I can't remember.  You probably only enter the email address one time and place at the end when you file the return.  I don't see it on any forms or worksheets.

is Turbotax efile status accurate?

Hi, I filed a week ago and received emails form Turbotax was accepted by Federal and State.  Now today Turbotax is saying I haven't efiled yet.  Who do I believe?  Should I just file again?

is Turbotax efile status accurate?

You probably have another account.  That's common.

If you used the Online version you can check your efile status here

https://turbotax.intuit.com/tax-tools/efile-status-lookup/

When you efile you get back 2 emails.  The first email only confirms the transmission.  The second email says if the IRS (or state) Accepted or Rejected your efile.  And check your spam folder for them.

When you log into your account you should also see the status and if it was Accepted or Rejected, Started, Printed, Ready to Mail, etc.  What does it say?
