The IRS does not send emails, only letters. If you got an email it is probably a scam. Are you looking for a refund? The IRS WMR lookup is not always up to date and is flakey. You can't go by that page. Or did the IRS send you a letter? If you had a tax due maybe they didn't get your payment?
You better double check your efile status here,
https://turbotax.intuit.com/tax-tools/efile-status-lookup
When you efile you get back 2 emails. The first email only confirms the transmission. The second email says if the IRS (or state) Accepted or Rejected your efile.
When you log into your account you should also see the status and if it was Accepted or Rejected, Started, Printed, Ready to Mail, etc. What does it say?
THE IRS DOES NOT EMAIL!!!!!!
Be wary of a scam!!!!
I had to go through a security ID process
When did you file? Maybe the IRS hasn't processed it yet. It is taking a long time this year, like over 6 months or more. It may not show up in your IRS account until then. Did you efile? Was it accepted?
Did you get the 3rd Stimulus payment back in March-May 2021? It was 1400 per person. The IRS would have sent letter #6475 saying how much they sent you. If you are married you each get a letter for half. Also double check your bank accounts to see if you got a deposit.
Did you have an amount on 1040 line 30 for the Recovery Rebate Credit (to claim a missing 3rd Stimulus)? Line 30 is only if you didn't get the 3rd Stimulus payment. But a lot of people answered the questions wrong and tried to claim it again on line 30 so the IRS has to adjust a lot of returns and reduce the refund or send a bill.
