IRS delay solar tax credit

My return was accepted by the IRS on 2/10/24 and still no movement from processing. Only thing different this year is the solar tax credit for my solar system installed. Can get a hold of anyone at the IRS and its frustrating.

Call the IRS: 1-800-829-1040 hours 7 AM - 7 PM local time Monday-Friday
When calling the IRS do NOT choose the first option re: "Refund", or it will send you to an automated phone line.
So after first choosing your language, then do NOT choose Option 1 (refund info). Choose option 2 for "personal income tax" instead.
Then press 1 for "form, tax history, or payment".
Then press 3 "for all other questions."
Then press 2 "for all other questions."
- When it asks you to enter your SSN or EIN to access your account information, don't enter anything.
- After it asks twice, you will get another menu.

Press 2 for personal or individual tax questions.
Then press 3 for all other inquiries
It should then transfer you to an agent.

My refund was accepted the same date as yours and I also did the solar credit. I contacted the IRS several times and they keep telling me that I have to wait 10 weeks. They will either process it or send a letter. Honestly, I think they are just sitting on it because of the credit.

Once your return is filed, TurboTax has no control over the processing of your return or the release of your refund.

Same here. I’m just wondering if they will actually process it after 10 weeks.

I spoke to the IRS and was told April 22, 2024 is 10 weeks and I should call back after that date. I was also told that I would be receiving interest beginning at 45 days.

Tried to contact the IRS to follow up again. It has been past 10 weeks and was told to follow up after April 22. Still no movement in the refund tracker. So frustrating!

Was finally able to speak with a rep at the IRS. She is now sending a ticket to "errors/resolutions" and I now have to wait 30 more days for either my refund or letter response in the mail. If not then I was instructed to call back again after the 30 days.

I have been waiting since February. I called and the IRS said they have only seen 1 processed for the credit. They could not give me a timeline either. They said many are in process to be validated before payment. Not sure what they need to help assist the process. Hopefully before the end of year it will come.
