Yes---but "accepted" does not mean "approved."
TurboTax gives you an estimated date for receiving your refund based on a 21 day average from your date of acceptance, but it can take longer.
Once your federal return has been accepted by the IRS, only the IRS has any control. TurboTax does not receive any updates from the IRS. Your ONLY source of information about your refund now is the IRS.
You need your filing status, your Social Security number and the exact amount (line 20 of your Form 1040) of your federal refund to track your Federal refund:
To track your state refund:

On the IRS site you are also offered the use of an app called IRS2Go

If you chose to have your TurboTax fees deducted from your federal refund, that will take some extra time, while the third party bank handles the refund processing.

Hi, I efiled a week ago and received emails from Turbotax saying my returns were accepted by Federal and State. Now today Turbotax is saying I haven't efiled yet. Who do I believe? Should I just file again? I cannot use the IRS tool to chevk since I have a payment not a refund
Did TurboTax tell you that in an email or did you sign into your account and see that message? You may have multiple accounts. The easiest way to confirm is to sign into your TurboTax account. If you know you already e-filed, TurboTax will tell you that. If not, you may have signed into a different account than you used to file your return. See this link to find out all the accounts you have. @robertm16
Thanks, I am using desktop premier and I dont get any of this. I logged onto an account I have and it says I havent started yet. the desktop version never asked me to log on.
Ok that's why. You have an online account but you used the Desktop program. Turbo Tax only knows about the online version.
For the Desktop program you have to check the filing status inside the program. Open your return and go up to menu item
File > Electronic Filing > Check Electronic Filing Status
Thanks. Yes I check inside the program and that's where it says I haven't filed.
Maybe you don't have the right return open. See if you have any other 2021 returns on your computer. Are you on Windows or Mac? Go up to File-Open.
I checked and this is definitely the file from which I efiled
Now I'm hearing that this is a known bug. A bit disturbing. What if I go through and file again? Does anyone know how to check with IRS? Where's my refund doesn't work as I have a payment.
All I can say is go through the File tab again and file it again. If it rejects then you know the first one went through. If it makes you pay for state you can call in for a refund.
Where did you see it's a known bug? I read the posts here every day and haven't seen that.
Hi, good advice thanks. I went all the way through eFiling again, and sure enough it says:
"The submission is a duplicate of one that was previously received. Please contact customer support.
Looks like we've had a technical hiccup."
Those who said "this is a well known bug" are also right.
A big worry and waste of time though for many.
Thanks
