If your refund can’t be deposited into your account you will receive a check by mail. No need to do another return.
No, you will not file a new return for that.
If you e-filed:
Banking information for direct deposit is wrong or closed
If you entered incorrect banking information for your refund, you can change it if your return is rejected. If it is accepted, however, it is too late to change it. The bank will reject the refund and send it back to the IRS. Then the IRS will issue a paper check and mail it to the address you put on your tax return. Expect a delay of at least a couple of weeks to receive your refund.
Here is what the IRS says about entering incorrect banking information
If your refund is sent back to the IRS—- make certain that the address you entered on your Form 1040 is correct. And…open all mail, even if it looks like junk mail.
A little off topic ….but why do you say in 2025? In 2025 you will file your 2024 return. Be sure to double check the routing and bank numbers then and change it on your 2024 return.
If your 2023 return required correction, you would file an amended 2023 return. You would never combine 2023 and 2024 information on one return, each year is separate.
However, as noted, if your banking information was wrong on your 2023 return, the IRS will mail a check to the address you used on your return. It may take a few weeks.
