did you get a tax form? if so, what was it a w-2 or 1099?
the employer can not file a w-2 without a proper EIN. so this creates issues for both of you.
if you got a 1099 you don't need either an EIN or SSN since you will be filing schedule C - you can't use the free edition.
The "employer" should have gotten an EIN for the W-2 form so if they are not willing to correct this error your only option is to mail in a paper return ... this is an IRS rule not a TT one.
