I found a 2005 .tax file but no corresponding PDF. Is there a way to open/print this file for my records?

Turbotax doesn't support years that old ...    

If you have old .tax files you can try converting them to pdf files at  Www.Taxprinter.Com 

It might be expensive.  They are not connected with Turbo Tax.  Use it at your own risk.
