That might make sense of there were forms impacting us not yet available. But that’s not the case. All of the forms we need are already available. Seems odd that we’d have to wait on ones that don’t matter.
You can e-file without an issue, and print the returns after Feb 9 within Turbo Tax. Since you have already filed the federal but need to file your state, please follow the instructions here to file the state separately.
Thanks. So it's not concerning that it'll let you file the state taxes (even though all forms aren't available) but it won't let you print them? Worries me.
TurboTax told me that it filed my state return even though the forms are not yet available. This seems to contradict an earlier answer on this topic. TurboTax also took my $20 to file the state electronically. So, what's going on? Did it file my state return or didn't it? If it did not, why did it say it had, and do I need to file again?
When I clicked on Preview Print Copy, it looked like my state return was shown, but had a watermark showing "Efile Only". I just tried to reproduce this and was not able to. Again, what is going on?

Will it automatically file at some point?

The program files your tax return electronically, but in some cases when the forms are not available until February or after you submit your e-file, you are not able to print that return until the information is updated. It's possible that you may have filed later in February and had no idea this could be an issue when printing. You will be able to print your tax return when the forms are available.
Once you e-file your tax returns you can check the status moving forward. Sign into your online TurboTax account, then, go to Tax Home. You can check your e-file status here. Once it's been accepted from the IRS, you can then track and follow the status. If it's been accepted, you can begin to track your refund at the IRS Where's My Refund? site.
I have the same issue with the Alabama forms. Have to wait and see.
Turbotax allowed me to efile my Alabama tax but won't print my tax return because it says the forms aren't finalized. How can it file it the forms are not finalized? How can I print my Alabama return?
I am getting the same message for my Alabama state return but I e-filed with my Federal return and got the email confirmation that both were accepted. I went back to print my return and I am not able to print my State return.
I am getting the same message on my Alabama State Return. I e-filed it and got an email that it was accepted but I am not able to print or save a PDF of my State return.
If you have already filed, to print your State return, see the instructions below:
You can locate the worksheets that were included in your tax return by accessing a complete copy of your tax return from the Print Center. The PDF file of your tax return, that is located on the tax home page will not include the worksheets. Please note: this may not work until your return has been accepted.
Please see the steps below to obtain a complete copy of your tax return which would include all worksheets:
I've done my 2022 federal and Alabama state tax returns. I've e-filed and TT says they've been accepted. I've printed federal, but Alabama state says not available due to lack of some forms!? How can it be filed/accepted, but not available for me to view/print??
I am not able to print my Alabama return either. I have been using TurboTax desktop for many years and I have never had this problem before.
Please see this Turbo Tax help article.
Why can't I print out my forms?
OK. But all Alabama forms are marked available if I look at the schedule of available forms. I have never seen Alabama forms not be ready by mid February before. However, I will give it another week or so.
