I talked to TurboTax today to check status of my loan and she told me my loan is being processed now I wonder how long that’s gone take and I have received my card early..
@ the TurboTax employee,
Thank you for that contact information.
PLEASE have someone announce what is happening. Are the people with filing dates prior to 1/25 being handled first?
This is very stressful. How much longer until we even know whether or not the bank accepted us for the advance?
We paid a lot of money to file here
So I spoke with a First Century Bank employee and she told me they do not decide who is approves or denied, and that TurboTax does. Now you tell me what sense that makes? Seems like nobody for any of these 3 companies has a clue of what is going on.
i just spent almost 2 hours on the phone with turbo tax. tax to a rep then talked to her boss. what seems to be the issue is that the system wasnt set up to send the applications until the 24th so if you got accepted before the system didnt know to send the application to the bank. she is going to talk to her boss about it tomorrow. her boss is in corporate so thats about as high as one could go she understands the issue and is hoping to get back to me via email saturday with the info she was able to find out. she was instructed to tell people to wait a week after accepted for it to be resolved but i was able to screen share and show that it has been a week already. there doesnt seem a point in calling anyone anymore or as of yet ill update with what i find out and hopefully that will help.
This is the best answer we're gonna get and hoping this is the solution...please let me know what is talked about Saturday after emailing them again
I applied for the refund advance. My return was accepted by the IRS but no advance has been deposited. I contacted credit karma. I was told to contact turbo tax and then contact credit karma again with my results and any documentation pertaining to my loan advance. I sent those documents and then contacted credit karma once again. I'm now being told by credit karma that I have to get in touch with turbo tax because turbo tax is suppose to send the refund amounts and IRS approval to credit karma. I contacted turbo tax and was told that everything on their end has been approved and that credit karma is in charge of processing the advance to my account. I'm not trying to speak with a supervisor at credit karma because these people don't seem to have any clue as to what I'm talking about or what I'm asking. This doesn't seem right nor legal. I would have filled with another tax company if I knew this was going to be my outcome with turbo tax and credit karma.
Credit karma has advised me that turbo tax is suppose to.contact credit karma with the approval of our IRS returns and that they send the refund advance go credit karma and then it's deposited into the account. As of now credit karma has not received over 1000 different applications status and funds on the refund advance from turbo tax. Until turbo tax releases our approvals and loan amounts to credit karma that we won't receive the loan. I'm in shock with how one company is blaming the other company when.they should be working together since they offer the product together. This is just ridiculous.
Even better is that they are both owned by the same company and credit karma doesn't actually handle the money at all that's done through the third party bank
@AimeeW it's all a big joke. I filed and had my return accepted on the 21st buy the IRS but have not received the advance or any information about it. I emailed credit karma they said I had to talk to TurboTax. I talked to TurboTax and she said she didnt have any idea what was going on. After recommendation from another user I just called First Century Bank and the lady asked all my info but then told me she did not see an application. Then told me to make sure I applied for the advance. I told her I did any hundreds, maybe even thousands of others are having the same problem and asked her who I could talk to that knew more about it and she just said nobody and got silent and I just got pissed and hung up. Also before speaking to her the automated system told me I did not score enough points on their system to receive the full amount but was qualified for a lesser amount but it did not say how much. I'm guessing the automated system used my phone number to find that information because I had not punched in or given anyone any information. So if the automated system found my file, why couldn't she. Or maybe that's just a message they play when you press 3 and it doesn't even look up your info. I am about to call from a different phone not associated with my account and see if it says the same thing. If it does I know it's just a BS recording but if it says it can't find my info based on the phone I called from then I will know they have a file for me and the lady I talked to was a bigger idiot than I originally thought. I have not come across one person who filed and was accepted prior to the 24th that has gotten their advance. It seems to me that is the problem. So far everyone I see who has been waiting days was accepted before 24th and everyone who has received it after several hours or a day was accepted on the 24th or after. Being that they weren't supposed to accept until the 24th I think that has to be the issue.
@darren12 that is exactly what I have suspected the problem was all along because everyone I see who hasn't been paid was accepted prior to the 24th and everyone after the 24th has been paid. Mine has also been over a week because I was accepted the 21st. I have also been thinking for the last 2 or 3 days of just redoing it but I don't think it would let me do that unfortunately and even if it would then I would have to wait for the full refund longer. I'm am for sure filing a class action lawsuits or at least speaking with an attorney about whether we all have a case or not. I think this situation is exactly what class actions were designed for so I'm sure we will have a case so everyone stay posted.
I was accepted on the 24th and still nothing. There are no answers so far.
I definitely think this is a lawsuit. Neither company is able to actually give correct information about the advance. Credit karma can’t even tell you who is funding the advances. They literally just tried to tell me I should have received an email from turbo tax and credit karma with information on my advance and it clearly states in credit karmas help section about the refund advance that an email from first century bank is who it should come from. This whole thing is a mess and their clearly in no hurry to try and help fix it. It’s like my loan application was approved and then disappeared. The only thing I have in my return is the documents I signed to give consent to credit karma for the advance. This whole thing has had me in bad mood since my return was accepted by the irs.
Understanding your both under the intuit umbrella is one thing but trying to understand why credit karma says “ reach out to a turbo tax expert “ then turbo tax says “ reach out to a credit karma expert “ is a whole other ridiculous problem that I been trying to solve for a week now
@Queen504 same , how does an institution whom I joined for one specific reason not have any recollection or paper work to prove I signed up for the sole purpose of said reason smh
