How long does it take payment to clear. I live in LA and paid yesterday but still hasnt cleared my bank

Deadline in LA was tonight. I filed and paid via my checking account but amount still has not been debited from my checking account.

E-filing the tax return with a direct debit for federal taxes owed does not instantly debit your bank account.  The IRS has the responsibility for debiting your account and that can take several days or weeks before the account is debited.  Your taxes owed were paid on time regardless when the IRS actually debits the account.
