Do you mean a refund?
After 3 weeks you can track it here, but it probably won't show up for a long time.

In normal times it takes 16 weeks to process Amended returns but these are not normal times. You might be waiting a long long time.
My amended return was accepted over six months ago. Using your method to track it yields no results. Is there a good number to call?

Call the IRS: 1-800-829-1040 hours 7 AM - 7 PM local time Monday-Friday
When calling the IRS do NOT choose the first option re: "Refund", or it will send you to an automated phone line.
So after first choosing your language, then do NOT choose Option 1 (refund info). Choose option 2 for "personal income tax" instead.
Then press 1 for "form, tax history, or payment".
Then press 3 "for all other questions."
Then press 2 "for all other questions."
- When it asks you to enter your SSN or EIN to access your account information, don't enter anything.
- After it asks twice, you will get another menu.
Press 2 for personal or individual tax questions.
Then press 3 for all other inquiries
It should then transfer you to an agent.
Your method to contact IRS agent was spot on. Thank you. However, they couldn't provide status of my amended return. Got a little song and dance about Covid affecting IRS efficiency and end of year 2022 processing. Suggested I keep checking "where's my return" website.
Reply from IRS via T-Tax "Accepted". 1 hour phone call with IRS and Intuit no help. Neither shows record of submitted 1040X with form 5695. Cannot resubmit on 2021 return. Status shows already submitted. 2022 return does not give me the same energy credit. 0$ vice $500 in 2021. HELP PLEASE
Turbo Tax can provide your completed Amended forms, but we are unable to track your mailed-in returns.
If this is what the IRS has advised, you will need to wait until your Amended return is processed. Once yours is in line to process you will be able to see it at the link here: https://www.irs.gov/filing/wheres-my-amended-return.
Heather, I am well beyond all that. I E-filed the amended return. t-tax tells me NOT to mail return since it has already been accepted electronically. My tt case # is 1511699209 .
The e-file is in the hands of the IRS and they are the only ones who could give you any updated information. If you mail a return in after you've e-filed, it can take even longer. If both returns were the same and the IRS already accepted the e-filed return, the IRS will reject the return you mail.
