Do you have a TurboTax Online account?

We'll help you get started or pick up where you left off.

How do I get my previous two years of taxes when someone else filed them for me (on their Turbotax account)? They are not available to ask for help anytime soon.

I need my past two years of taxes, but I had a parent fill them out on their Turbotax account. They are not available for contact at the moment, but I need my information. What would be the best way to get this information. Thanks!

Go to this IRS website for free federal tax return transcripts - https://www.irs.gov/individuals/get-transcript

For a fee of $43 you can get a complete federal tax return from the IRS by completing Form 4506 - http://www.irs.gov/pub/irs-pdf/f4506.pdf

Only the person who has the TurboTax account that was used to prepare the return(s) can access the account and the returns.   No one else can be given access.   If you just need a copy of the return then you can pay the IRS $43 per copy or get free transcripts.

You can pay the IRS $43 for an actual copy of your tax return which will include copies of your W-2’s

A free Tax Return Transcript from the IRS lists all the information from your tax return, but it is not in the format of the actual forms. If you only need the information, a transcript should meet your needs. Lenders will generally accept a transcript instead of an actual copy.
