The IRS only retains tax returns for the past seven years.

Go to this IRS website for free federal tax return transcripts - https://www.irs.gov/individuals/get-transcript

For a fee of $43 you can get a complete federal tax return from the IRS by completing Form 4506 - http://www.irs.gov/pub/irs-pdf/f4506.pdf

IF you filed 2022 under a new name, and in a new account  (perhaps filing with a new spouse on a new or different account).   Then your 2021 data (and 5or6 prior years) that you filed previously using TurboTax "Online" software using any name, but in a different account may still be availble.....BUT

...you must log into that prior account.....pretend you are starting 2022 for a few pages until "Tax Home" shows up on the left side of the screen...click on that and then scroll down to the prior year area .

Download ALL your prior PDF files thar are available to you ASAP....then back them up to a flash drive.

Also, print out a few of the initial pages from each one (NOW) and put them into a tax folder to keep at home, or in a locked box at your Bank.
