My tax return did not print out the turbotax cover sheets...why?

Hey Kristin,

I had the same issue. Looks like in 2014 this happened as well (copied answer below).  I followed the steps below that someone else had posted in 2014, except that after you click " add a state", there is an option when the page opens that you can "View, Print, Or Save Documents".  I clicked this and chose the options for "All Forms" and the entire return was generated, along w/ the cover summary sheets.  Hope this helps.


Where is my cover sheet? My return was missing the cover sheet. I just did my 2014 taxes and I saved it as a pdf and I printed. The pdf did not have a cover sheet.

This year a summary page was not included with the filing instructions but there is a work around. Here is what you need to do:

 1)First, when you sign in and go your Tax Timeline 2014, look under "some things you can do".
 2)Then under "some things you can do" click ADD A STATE (you don't actually add one; that's just to get your return to open.).
 3)Now way up at the top go to MY ACCOUNT, then PRINT CENTER. Then "View/Print/Save."
The summary page should populate with your tax documents to print.

for 2020 the same thing happened to me but they have changed the layout of the page so the steps are a little different now. Select "Add Another State" as previously instructed to bring up your return - it is close to the bottom of the Tax Home page.  The next options you need are now on the left side of the page (not at the top anymore). Select "File" from the options on the left side of the page and the page that comes up will show the status of your return and will also have a link to "View or Print your return". When you click/select this link it will bring up a printable copy of your return which will include the turbo tax cover sheets we all know and love...hope this helps.

I have this same issue trying to print a hard copy of my daughter's tax return we e-filed on TT Free online. No cover sheet, only actual tax forms. I have tried every trick mentioned on these discussion boards. Cleared cache & data, clicked on "add another state" to access print center and select all forms including TT forms, selecting file, then print return. Nothing works. I can't even see that cover sheet anymore, much less print it. Help!

Although there was an issue with Filing Instructions not printing, the issue is resolved.  

If you're using TurboTax Online, close the program, clear your Cache and Cookies and try printing again.

No, it is not resolved. I already posted this once somewhere else, and someone gave me this same link. I went back in and tried again today. Still same result. I tried to repost on that thread, but it kept making me log in first, then I'd lose the thread so I reposted question again here. Every single time I try to view/print returns in many different ways, it only shows me the actual govt forms, not the cover sheet. I am not printing to mail - I have already e-filed. I'm just trying to print a hard copy for my files WITH the cover sheet.

I am having this problem with 2024 taxes. No summary sheets or mailing instructions with the Desktop version.

The only "solutions" proposed are to do with the online version, so do not help those of us who purchased the Desktop software.
