I got the same msg, if you used the same acct info to pay irs taxes, a papercheck will be mailed, pay tool will update with a mailed check date...got my check in the mail this week.

i owed the irs $4 last year.  i was able to update my bank info on april 15th.  also getting the "you are eligible for the payment once we have your payment date we will update this page" status message.

maybe they're not direct depositing any more $?  i'm starting to think it's going to be a paper check and i read they're sending them out to lowest income earners first, sigh.

Owing the IRS money WILL NOT affect your eligibility.  The IRS role in this is facilitation.  This is NOT a tax refund.  3 things WILL exclude you and 3 things only.  

1.  Your income exceeds the limit that has been set.

2.  Someone else can claim you as a dependent.

3.  You or your spouse is not a US citizen and/or you or your spouse does not have a social security number.

• Are a U.S. citizen or U.S. resident alien;
• Cannot be claimed as a dependent on someone else’s return;

• Exception: If either spouse is a member of the U.S. Armed Forces at any time during the taxable year, then only one spouse needs to have a valid SSN
• Have adjusted gross income below an amount based on your filing status and the number of your qualifying children.

@amragsdale check IRS site on 4/28.  Thatsvwhen they are supposed to have dates for the peeps in the upcoming round of DDs (e.g. you submitted info prior to 4/23)

Also to those struggling financially, unemployment has funding to include many previously ineligible and even if you only qualify for a small amount per week you will get 600 $ extra every week.  I encourage all to apply.
