I'm hearing the IRS ran out of funds and is waiting for the federal government to deliver additional funds but the additional funds will be dispersed in waves. It appears this will delay the next wave of stimulus payments for several weeks.
The gov't is currently doling out billions of additional money for small businesses and that may be the money that was originally intended for the stimulus check.
Because of all this, it looks like the wait for the next wave of stimulus checks will be delayed several weeks. Sit tight, be patient and good luck.
Do you think it's a turbo tax issue? I'd like to know why? They need to be held accountable after this all settles. I owed federal so for me TT didn't have my direct deposit info.
no its an irs issue
I bet the donors got their accounts "stimulated" already

A24. No, the IRS will not send Payments to accounts used to make a payment to the IRS. After you properly verify your identity, the Get My Payment tool will allow you to submit your bank account information if your Payment has not been processed. Providing your bank information is the fastest way to receive your Payment. If we do not have bank information for you, your Payment will be mailed to the address we have on file for you.
I still have no payment or update. I have contacted my congresswoman and suggest as many people as possible do the same. The more people that contact congress the more likely we are to get a a faster result!
your tax return and this stimulus are not linked per se. Other than the IRS that are running 20 or 30 year old software
@Srod1313 where are you hearing that?
it’s all Monopoly money at this point, it’s not like they’re melting down gold bars to cover this.
thats all understandable but there needs to be a way to adress the problem

@RealityChecker How did you enter your DD info on the 8th if the tool wasn't launched until the 15th? I'm sure we're all curious.
Also, from USAToday and other news orgs:
The IRS will be initiating "planned outages" on Friday and Saturday, following an earlier scheduled outage on Thursday. The "Get My Payment" tool will be unavailable starting at 10 p.m.Eastern Standard Time until approximately 1 a.m. "due to planned maintenance" on those days.
The IRS is expected to be making "critical system updates."
Yes I received the same message. I updated my direct deposit information early the 15th when the “get my payment” was launched. I still have not received my payment and continue to get the same message whenever I check the status. If anyone has any news or updates regarding this issue please reply.
thanks
