It is now Apr 12, 2023 and there is still no form available? Will this be ready by the time taxes are due?
I've even tried to remove any mention in my previous steps of claiming disaster benefits and it STILL triggers this warning and tells me not to proceed until the form is available. This is very frustrating. On one hand it feels like an IRS issue, on the other it feels like an Intuit issue.
So...
1: Will this form be available by the time taxes are due (that's like 3 days).
2: How can I clear the entry for disaster benefits (if I want to remove it, that is)?
Thank you, I was able to work around this bug, and filed.
My return was rejected 2 times now, due to incorrect IP PIN. TurboTax is asking for 2022 PIN, while IRS says all returns filed in 2023 should use 2023 PIN.
Now I'm trying with 2022 PIN (who keeps old PINs ?), even if TurboTax takes only 5 of 6 digits of the IRS PIN.
What a mess !

Go to this IRS website to retrieve your current IP PIN - https://www.irs.gov/identity-theft-fraud-scams/retrieve-your-ip-pin
To enter, edit or delete a 6 digit IP PIN
Click on Federal Taxes (Personal using Home and Business)
Click on Other Tax Situations
Scroll down to Other Return Info
On Identity Protection PIN, click the start button

Please read closely my post. I retrieved my 2023 IP PIN from IRS website.
TurboTax is asking for "2022 e-file PIN", and takes 5 digits only. I hope it's asking for IRS IP PIN.
I'm currently trying with 2022 PINs, if it won't work, will try current 2023 PIN.
Are you saying that manually replacing PINs in the "enter the PIN" entry is not enough, I have to go to a procedure to do it ?
What a mess !
@alaskanka The 5 digit PIN is a self-selected PIN required by the IRS for e-filing a tax return. It has nothing to do with the 6 digit IP PIN you received from the IRS.
You need to use the procedure I posted to enter your 6 digit Identity Protection PIN.
Thank you, tried this approach, will see if it works.
It would be nice of TurboTax to explain that the "e-file IP" they ask for has nothing to do with IRS IP PIN.
Update:
After filing I got txt msg from TT that federal return was rejected, another txt 15 mins later that it was accepted.
No word about state tax return status, as of 1 hr later.
State acceptance or rejection can take from 24 or 48 hours. Sometime sooner but don't hold your breath.
Previously state rejection came at the same time as federal rejection.
Now I received federal rejection + acceptance within 1 hr, in response to a single filing. No state response yet.
It's getting interesting.
It is now April 16, 2023 and TT 2022 still says that the form is unavailable. What is the work-around or alternative to file my taxes ON TIME?!
@c-galluzzo I don't remember details, I followed directions in one of above posts.
Basically I went into the "Disaster distribution" section, and entered the numbers again. This time it worked.
2023 version of TurboTax has many bugs, you need to try until your return is accepted.
Good luck !
How were you able to work around? I didn't pick that part up.
What are you trying to do that you are unable to work around? Also what version are you currently using to file, desktop or online? @me7
I'm trying to work around the 8915F-T problem. I can't transmit until I figure that out.
Rather stunned that it is April 17th and still happening.
TurboTax 2022 Windows Desktop
I have this same problem, too. I have called support 3 times, and every time I mention that this is the issue I having I am hung up on. After waiting 30+ minutes to talk to someone.
If you are using the Download/Desktop version, you will need to make sure you have updated your software. To manually update for Windows, please see the Help Article here. For Mac, please see this Help Article.
