Thanks George, I will try that again. I did that yesterday twice. It's odd because the bottom part of the page being blank shows up in Edge as well when I go to preview. I even went as far as creating a new tax return, reentering everything and the same thing happened. It doesn't impact the entire return, really Form 1040 and possibly a few schedules that have all the information but everything is shrunk and the bottom of the page is blank (i.e., I can't get it to preview or show up in either Edge, Chrome, or PDF as a full page). I've tried playing with the Adobe print settings (Letter, fit to page, shrink/no shrink) but am totally open if you have additional suggestions. It beats going to Kinkos again, printing blank IRS forms...Thank you!
Are you sure? The 2019 1040 is not a full page. Page 1 only goes to line 11b. The bottom 1/3 IS BLANK.
Thank you for the link - I'll check that out and the schedules that are showing up that way! I opened up some previous tax returns and the Forms 1040 all showed up as full page; honestly didn't even occur to me that the IRS could change the formatting of their forms. Go figure! Sometimes the simplest choice is the answer - thanks for suggesting I take a look at that!
Yeah, starting in 2018 the IRS changed the format and line numbers now each year. 2018 was a postcard size return. 1/2 size page that printed on 2 pages. They also added a 1040SR. Same line numbers but enlarged to fill the whole sheet for people over 65. If you are 65+ Turbo Tax automatically gives you the 1040SR. We have lots of complaints on that.
All the line numbers have changed and there are new schedules. 2018 has 6 new schedules and 2019 only has 3.
For 2018
2018 is a NEW postcard size 1040. Under the new tax laws, there are no more simple Form 1040EZ or 1040A's. Everything goes on a little Form 1040 that has six extra "schedules" with it. For 2018 the new 1040 is 2 half pages but now print on 1 sheet with the Signature line in the Middle.
