You will receive an email informing you that your return has been accepted or rejected by the IRS. If your return is rejected, you will receive an email instructing you on how to fix it. If it is accepted, you will need to amend your return in order to correct the mistake.

I am amending my return and notice that turbo tax filled in "unemployed" on my 1040. I am self employed and have completed the forms. It says it's "calculated" and cannot be changed. What can I do?

"It says it's "calculated" and cannot be changed."
Where does it say this? Your occupation - which can be anything you want - is printed at the bottom of the 1040 on the same level as your signature.
You enter your occupation in the My Info or Personal Info section where you entered your name, birthdate, and SS number (although this may vary slightly between the Online and CD/download versions).
Or are you talking about something else or somewhere else?
