Thank you @Grande99 for the information. I tried adding city to the address and it WORKED! I have a Canadian address. Not sure if adding city would be the universal solution for people with foreign addresses. But def worth a try.

This is for anyone who keeps getting this message on the very first page: "The information you have entered does not match our records." Try using Internet Explorer. I used Google Chrome for weeks and entered every variation suggested by people online (SS# with dashes, no abbreviations in your address, etc.). Then I tried Internet Explorer this morning and got right in.

In case it helps, I entered my SS# with no dashes, my address in all caps with the street type abbreviated and my ZIP code in the simple five-digit format rather than the USPS nine-digit variation. Good luck.

I got on the IRS get my payment status yesterday and it said the information was incorrect on my checking account. Its not the browser....the app is case sensitive....when putting in the address...everything should be in caps...cause thats how the irs computer revords it.

The IRS is Evil They say that during the covid 19 pandemic you can call (800) 829-1954 but then automator on the phone says they can't answer the phone due to the lack of staff.the irs website doesn't help with any problems you maybe having in fact it will lock you out & Not give you any help.why can't these people have a chat live chat option like any other wedsite.clearly the IRS wants to keep people in turmoil

Same Here so it must be that Turbo Tax didn't give the IRS our correct information after filling our taxes.because when I go to the IRS website & give them my information that i gave turbo tax when filling my taxes it says the information doesn't match our records.WTF

Why doesn't the IRS have a live chat option ...  simple answer MONEY ... their budget has been cut every year for the last 10 years  so there is no MONEY in the budget to hire enough staff. 

And when using the GET MY PAYMENT tool you must enter the address EXACTLY as it is written on the form 1040 ... do not use the APT section.

THE IRS COMPUTER ONLY RECOGNIZE CAPITAL.LETTERS...TRY IT THAT WAY.

I have had no issue with the address needing to be in all caps but it does need to be exactly as it is on the return.  For instance you cannot enter STREET if you entered ST. on the return.

IRS website states my information doesn’t match their records. I put in correct SS # and correct DOB, address, and zip. Have already filed 2019 and paid amount due and IRS has cashed my check. I qualify for stimulus but haven’t received it.

I checked the site today and FINALLY it changed and said they are mailing my check on May 15th. Hallelujah!!!

Try using all capital.letters...thats what was wrong with me and i had the same problem your having now.when i used all caps...it worked fine.

Hey everyone!

I have been having the same issue that you all are discussing and I think I have a potential fix!

I continued to receive the error that my tax information did that match their system; however, I made an account at IRS.gov and verified my identity. The next day, I entered the same information as I always have and the form completed. Not sure what this fix would do, but it worked for me!
