Can I still refile my tax return?

Hi! I chooses check as to receive my tax refund. However, I’m worried that I cannot encash it in my bank in the Philippines. Do you have such an options to refile it? Or send it thru an authorized direct bank in USA?

If you have already filed and submitted your tax return you will be unable to change  the direct deposit options once the return has been accepted.

Your refund check should be valid for approximately 1 year. If you have trouble cashing the check in the Philippines, will you be in the states within a year? If the check expires, you can request it to be re-issued. Please click here to read this thread by user ddaven12 for more information

Hello Ma’am! Thank you so much. However, I won’t be able to come back to US after 2 years. Do you know if IRS has an option to deposit it directly thru my bank account in Philippines? Thanks a lot! This is very helpful.

Hello again guys! 

I’m worried because when I check my refund status in IRS website, it says that it was sent last feb 7th 2020. Is it normal that it’s already march 1st here in the PH and still I haven’t gotten any checks? It’s almost a month now. I’m pretty sure also that my address is correct. Thank you

Normal postal delivery time within the United States is 3-5 business days once the IRS has mailed your refund check. International delivery times are hard to predict but per the USPS can take 2-6 weeks.
