my turbo tax online and it still pending i file exactly on 1-26-2026 and today i still see pending on 1-28-2026. and because 

i went to irs local office and irs employee said short staff irs and i ask that same question to and she right that why my turbotax still say pending still and also i look on gloogle webpage and type staff shortage for irs for efile in years 2026 so be patient.

The IRS just "started" on the 26th,  and the computers can't process them all at the same time.

Thus, the IRS pulls small batches of files (i.e. not all files) from "All" the tax software providers in a somewhat random basis.

As such, it might take 10 days or so for the IRS computers to work thru the millions of files waiting.

IF you had filed (say) 2 weeks form now, they would get to yours within 2 days after e-filing.

SO, you just have to wait.
