You misunderstood. Federal and state refunds come from completely separate entities and do not come at the same time from the same place. Since it has been such a long time ago, do you still even have the email that would have told you if your state return was accepted or rejected?
When you e-file your federal return you will receive two emails from TurboTax. The first one will say that your return was submitted. The second email will tell you if your federal return was accepted or rejected. If you e-filed a state return, there will be a third email to tell you if the state accepted or rejected your state return.
No one else can access your tax return or your account for you to see how much your state refund was supposed to be. Only YOU can access it by going in to the account and using the exact account and user ID that you used when you prepared the 2017 return.
If your state return was not filed, then you can still print it, sign it and mail it in. If it looks like it was accepted but the state did not send your refund, then contact the state.
