My return is still in “pending” status & it’s been almost 72 hours?!?

What day did you guys file mine is still pending as well and know answer IRS is saying I have to wait until 21 days before they can look at mine

Refile with another preparer get accepted in 20 minutes. Try that. Filed the other day I usually get accepted in 1 hour. Still pending with TT. Don’t get any EIC or Child credit TT is holding returns. I’ve Been using TT many years now this.

I received a rejection from TurboTax today, so I corrected it and am awaiting acceptance again. There is a small part of me that is being stubborn, and not wanting to file with another preparer, because I paid TurboTax in advance and they are not great at giving refunds. I will update everybody if they get accepted here in the next two days,

I too am waiting. I filed the evening of 2/7 with the "24 to 48 hours" message. It's now 2/10 at 7:40 pm CST and still Pending. I did however get in touch with a TT support person who was able to confirm to me that the IRS has my return by giving me a confirmation number. I told him this is the longest I've ever had to wait but this is the latest I've ever filed.  I have the Energy Tax Credit and that form was delayed. The support guy said they're being told some are taking up to 5 days to be "accepted."    

I wouldn't think filing with someone else now would be a good idea. It could appear fishy. But if y'all try and talk to a support person, they may be able to shed some light. 

EDIT: Well, I had no sooner posted this when I finally got an email saying my return was accepted.  Filing was on 2/7 in the late pm and today is the 10th.

I filed federal on February 7, submitted same day and pending status till today February 12. I didn’t receive email confirmation accepted or rejected yet. So over 5 days from the day of e filed, is it normal or something wrong?, that I need expert person look on it.

Have you gotten any response?  Mine received 1/30/24 , and has been showing pending every since.  Received my State refund 2 weeks ago.

You can check that your return was received by the taxing authorities using these instructions: Check the Electronic Postmark of your Return. Pay close attention to the separate lines for Federal and State. They are separate statuses.

Once your return is filed, TurboTax has no control over the processing of your return or the release of your refund.

I am experiencing the same thing. I submitted my return on the 17th and for as long as I've been doing my taxes it's always accepted almost immediately. Not this time, it's still showing pending. I called turbotax and they said to just keep waiting. How long did it take for yours to finally get accepted?

There could be a couple or reasons why you might be experiencing a delay;

1. First, the status might be pending for security reasons. This may be a sign that someone is trying to use your identity to file a tax return. The return has been placed on hold to give you an opportunity to cancel it if it doesn't belong to you. This can take up to 72 hours, after which your return will then be forwarded to the IRS, or if applicable, rejected. If rejected, you can then correct the rejection issue and resubmit. Please see this FAQ for reference.

2. Secondly, there could be a delay if your return has various refundable credits, such as the Earned Income Credit.

Note: Both instances may be applicable. That is, you could have a hold for security reasons first. And additionally for verification of the refundable credits in your return. In this case, delays might extend beyond 72 hours.

I'll let you know when it is through.  I have called the hotline and it says the same thing.  I did not use any earned income credits, just standard deductions. My state came in 10 days later.

I also filed on 3/17/2024 and 4 days passed. I called customer service, they told that tax has been transmitted to both the agencies (Fed and State) but I checked none of the agency has my tax information. Something is wrong with TT this year. Otherwise it used to take few hours to get "Acceptance" email.  

Update:

After this post, I got email/TXT at 3/21/2024 04:50PM PDT that my Federal and State tax has been accepted. 

I checked the status on IRS website that it is accepted however state website still don't have any information. I checked even today on 3/23/2023.

I filed on the 18th and it has been pending for more than 72 hours. I strongly believe there is something wrong on TT side.

I too am waiting almost 72 hours.  Filed on 3/19. Always get acceptance within minutes. Turbo tax told me to wait 7 business days before contacting them again and that this normal.  Did yours get accepted yet?
