I filed electronically with Turbo Tax on February 7 and got an email a few hours later saying my state return and federal return were accepted. I received my state return a few weeks later but have yet to see my federal return. It is March 20.
I contacted IRS.GOV almost every day for the past 2 weeks and the automated system informs me my return is still processing.
Why would Turbo Tax tell me my federal return was accepted when it obviously wasn't? Has this happened to anybody else? What could be the problem? I have no children and worked 2 part time jobs with no tips.
I have repeatedly called the IRS and Turbo Tax to talk to a person and have only been met with automated systems that are no help at all.

"Accepted" is not the same as "approved". Accepted means you had enough data entered for the IRS to take the return into the system for processing. "Approved" comes later after the IRS reviews it and decides to release the refund.

TurboTax gives you an estimated date for receiving your refund based on a 21 day average from your date of acceptance, but it can take longer.
Once your federal return has been accepted by the IRS, only the IRS has any control. TurboTax does not receive any updates from the IRS. Your ONLY source of information about your refund now is the IRS.

If you chose to have your TurboTax fees deducted from your federal refund, that will take some extra time, while the third party bank handles the refund processing.

I FILED 2019 WITH TURBO DELUX, THE IRS SAID IT WAS INCOMPLETE BECUASE OF THE 1095A WASNT FILED AND ASKED IF I USED TURBO TAX BECUASE "THIS HAPPENED TO A LOT OF POEPL". I WAS NEVER ASKED TO SUBMIT THE INFORMATION WHEN FILING. I CONTACTED THEM AND THEY SAID THEY "THOUGHT IT WASNT A LAW". I ASKED FOR MY MONEY BACK SINCE THEY FILED MY TAXES INCOMPLETE" THEY SAID THERE IS NOTHING THEY CAN DO. I PAID FOR A SERVICE AND THEY DROPPED THE BALL AND WILL NOT REFUND ME. THEY WILL STEAL FROM YOU! NEVER USING THEM AGAIN. TELL YOUR FREINDS
