I posted a message yesterday. It was responded to by "Critter" yesterday (11/2/19). I responded today (11/3/19). Before you open the link to the thread, the heading info says "Last Response was by Critter Nov. 2). This is wrong since I have responded on 11/3. When you open the thread, it gets even stranger. The heading now says: "Last Response by Critter 23M". Critter's response was yesterday, not 23 minutes ago. My response is the most recent. Refreshing the screen doesn't fix the errors. What is going on?

xmasbaby, I've wasted five hours and eight phone calls talking to the call center personnel. They don't know anything about Form 1040-X or the software issues that I have documented. They cannot even view forms that you inquire about. They have wasted my time and money. The customer service function of TurboTax is the absolute worst I have ever encountered in my 40+ years as a financial professional.
Sorry, there are several glitches in the forum with dates. We've been complaining about it. Currently it even says there are new replies when there are not.
Why am I not surprised? The on-line software I need to amend my 2018 return allows you to log in and generate all the amended return documents - BUT THEY ARE INCORRECT! People on this forum have said that hasn't worked since Oct.20 yet the faulty software is still on the TurboTax website accessible to any user and lacking any disclosure that it is not "operational". I wonder how many users have produced and filed incorrect amended returns? Hundreds? Thousands? Does anyone know? Does anyone care?
In spite of the annoying notification lag time, the responses you get here are from volunteers. We do not punch a time clock or have a minimum time in which to respond to a post. So you post your question and wait for someone to reply to you.
Critter's reply was correct, although you did not like it. The system is currently in transition from 2018 to 2019 software and 2019 tax forms. That is not a transition that happens overnight. It will take until sometime in December before the change is complete.
Ever since this forum was transferred to this new place there have been many issues. Old threads were migrated all with the same 6/7/19 date when they could have been years older making much of the info out of date. Not sure why they had to move it at all ... the old system worked well and this new one leaves much to be desired. HATE the sections and the alerts to posted answers do not work at all.
xmasbaby, Why is defective software on-line and being used daily by unsuspecting customers if everyone agrees it is "non-operational"?
That is a great question for the people on the TT payroll.

The reason the call-center people don't seem to know about form 1040-X is because the 1040-X has never been capable of being done On-Line. TTax has always made a download of the desktop installed software available at no charge for those that need to prepare a form 1040-X ---That has ALWAYS been a feature of the TTax On-Line product. If one were to purchase the Desktop version in the first place they would not encounter this frustration.
Also, in response to a comment you made previously, you should be aware that per the TTax license is not it is not permitted for professional usage by those preparing tax returns for clients. It is intended solely to be used for self preparation of tax returns.
