Married filing jointly

So here's the situation:

My husband filed married filing jointly. He accidentally told me he filed married filing separate. So I filed my tax return for the measly $2600 I made last year. Both of ours got rejected, he refiled married filing jointly without my income and it got accepted. Do I need to file again? Can I leave it? Is 2600 too low to file anyway? Don't want to get in trouble!

Married filing jointly

No.  He has to amend the tax return that he filed as Married Filing Jointly to add your income to the joint tax return.

You do Not need to file again.

Before starting to amend the tax return, wait for the tax refund to be received or the taxes due to be paid and processed by the IRS.

Married filing jointly

He needs to amend the Joint return to add your income any info.  You should not amend until the first return has fully processed and you get the first refund or your tax due payment has cleared.
