IRS2GO Info Error

I filed on 1/30 and it was accepted on 2/10 according to TurboTax. When I try to use the IRS2GO app to check my status of my refund and it keeps saying my info isn’t accurate even though I’ve double checked it a million times. What could be the issue??

IRS2GO Info Error

mine keeps saying pending. I try to check and it says information doesn't match.  I am wondering if it has anything to do with the glitch for the last stimulus issue. Did you guys have to wait for your stimulus until  Turbo Tax and IRS fixed the problem?

The stimulus payment issues would not impact your 2020 refund.  The IRS did not start processing or accepting 2020 tax return till 2/12/21.  If you received a message before 2/12/21 it was accepted, your return passed all the internal checks at TurboTax but you return was not submitted to the IRS until the 2/12/21 date.  Based on that, those return filed with the initial 2/12/21 date when the IRS just started processing return, would just now start seeing the amounts hit their accounts.

If you claimed earned income tax credit or additional child tax credit on your return, your refund will be delayed possibly till March.  This from the IRS.gov website: Most earned income tax credit or advanced child tax credit related refunds should be available in taxpayer bank accounts or on debit cards by the first week of March, if they choose direct deposit and there are no other issues with their tax return.

Until the IRS starts processing your tax return there may not be a record of it on the IRS website. You can try calling the WMR automated hotline instead for updated status: 1-800-829-1954.

Please also see the below TurboTax FAQ for more information: Why is there no record of my return at Where's My Refund (WMR)?

IRS2GO Info Error

I received my second stimulus check by mail on feb 5, I filed in Jan 27 and was accepted in 2/11. I hope that they don’t reject my tax refund because of a marginal error in their deadlines. It’s did say they weren’t going to send any stimulus until after Jan 15 when tax season over and then I filed my taxes and got it anyway. It’s a huge mess and it’ll be past 21 days for me this week. Looking for answers, still saying pending. Can’t amend.

You may not need to amend your tax return.  The IRS has not published how they will handle a misstatement of stimulus payments on the 2020 tax returns.  They may catch the error and notify you of changes.

Due to the timing of the stimulus payments and tax filing season this is a very common experience.

Wait for your return to be processed or notification from the IRS for any further actions.
