After the tax return has been Accepted by the IRS (meaning only that they received the return) it will be in the Processing mode until the tax refund has been Approved and then an Issue Date will be available on the IRS website.
See this IRS website for federal tax refund FAQ's - https://www.irs.gov/refunds/tax-season-refund-frequently-asked-questions
"Accepted" does not mean the return has been processed. Allow some time for it to go through the stages of processing.
First, check your e-file status to see if your return was accepted:

Once your federal return has been accepted by the IRS, only the IRS has any control. TurboTax does not receive any updates from the IRS. Your ONLY source of information about your refund now is the IRS.
You need your filing status, your Social Security number and the exact amount (line 35a of your 2021 Form 1040) of your federal refund to track your Federal refund:

If you chose to have your TurboTax fees deducted from your federal refund, that will take some extra time, while the third party bank handles the refund processing.

Same issue. My 2021 tax return shows accepted on April 17, 2022 but as of today, JAN 17, 2023 (!!!!), it still says not processed. Your answer of allowing them time does not explain 9 months of waiting!
@mjmoorman TurboTax cannot speed up the IRS for you. Call them or contact a Tax Advocate.
To call the IRS:IRS: 800-829-1040 hours 7 AM - 7 PM local time Mon-Fri
Listen to each menu before making the selection.
First choose your language. Press 1 for English.
Then do NOT choose the first choice re: "Refund", or it will send you to an automated phone line.
Instead, press 2 for "personal income tax".
Then press 1 for "form, tax history, or payment".
Then press 3 "for all other questions."
Then press 2 "for all other questions." It should then transfer you to an agent.

This site is supposed to be for answers not insults! Why would you think that I thought Turbo Tax could speed up the IRS??? What a ridiculous comment to make, and how insulting! If you know something, you know and if you don't, it serves no purpose to insult people for asking questions. For your information, the IRS website is wrong. They simply haven't updated it. But for others who might like to call to see if there's is the same case, your telephone hints will be useful.
Unfortunately at this point, the situation is out of our hands for Turbotax to be able to handle this further. Once it has
been Accepted on our end, that means that the IRS has it in its possession. The best thing for you to do at this point
is to call the IRS. Follow these instructions:
To call the IRS:IRS: 800-829-1040 hours 7 AM - 7 PM local time Mon-Fri
Listen to each menu before making the selection.

Good luck!
@mjmoorman
I already called the IRS and you don't understand, and haven't read my post. I realize you might even be a bot. Anyway, as I said in the previous post, the IRS WEBSITE IS WRONG! No reply is needed. But now you know in case anyone else sees the same thing as everyone starts signing in the do their taxes.
@mjmoorman We are not bots. We are other users. We understand you are frustrated by not receiving your refund. But the problem lies between you and the IRS. You say the IRS site says it is still processing. And then you say the IRS is wrong. ONLY the IRS can tell you what happened. The IRS does not share any information with TurboTax after you file your tax return. As we suggested, if you have not done so yet, contact a Tax Advocate for help now.
OMG!!!! I am NOT frustrated because I didn't receive my refund. People who receive tax refunds are wasting money by allowing the government to hold their money, interest free. I would NEVER do that. I OWE taxes every year and I'm proud of it because I pay those taxes out of a savings account that is earning 3% interest instead of nothing! You obviously don't realize that the IRS website is NOT updated and might be showing information about the processing of your 2021 taxes that is incorrect. THAT was the answer you should have given. But you made assumptions and I had to figure it out on my own. Hopefully, people who use this community will take the answers with a grain of salt and realize that some of them come from people who don't really know what they're talking about because they are simply other users which means these answers might be a good starting point but please do your own research.
