TurboTax does not support tax year 2017.  If you are filing for a 2017 tax refund it will not be paid since it is beyond the three year limit for filing for a refund after the due date of the 2017 tax return.

If you have taxes owed on the 2017 return then it needs to be filed as soon as possible since penalties and interest will continue to accrue until the taxes are paid.  Once the IRS received the tax return and payment they will send you a bill in the mail for the penalties and interest.

You can use the IRS website for prior year forms and schedules for 2017 - https://apps.irs.gov/app/picklist/list/priorFormPublication.html

Print, sign, date and mail the return to the IRS using the address for your state - https://www.irs.gov/filing/where-to-file-paper-tax-returns-with-or-without-a-payment

Include with the mailed return any W-2's and Form 1099's which have taxes withheld.

Or you can seek out a local tax professional in your area to assist in completing the 2017 tax return.

@branjae1 2018 is the same issue as @DoninGA mentions above.  it's beyond the 3 year window to file.  The window to file 2019 and claim a refund is July 15, 2023.

however, for those back years, even if the window to claim a refund has expired,  if you owe taxes, you owe.... there is no expiration on that.

Sorry 2017 is too old.   They only sell the last 3 years.  Even if you find the program you will not be able to update it or download any state programs you need.  You will have to go somewhere else like a local accountant.

Or If you have a simple return You can fill out the blank forms for free.

Here are some blank forms & instructions for 2017

Don’t forget your state.  And you will have to print and mail your returns.  So be sure to attach copies of your W2s and any 1099s that have withholding on them.  You have to mail federal and state in separate envelopes because they go to different places.  Get a tracking number from the post office when you mail them for proof of filing.

It is too late to get any tax refunds for 2017.

Are you way behind in filing tax returns?   You will not be able to use TurboTax for 2018 either, but you could use the CD/downloads for 2019, 2020 and/or 2021.   But.....do you have the W-2's and 1099's needed to show your income?  Do you have the other financial records you may need to prepare returns for those tax years?   If not, you need to seek out the tax documents needed by contacting past employers for W-2's, 1099's, etc.

You might need to seek local paid tax help to get caught up on those returns.   If it turns out that you owe a lot of tax to the IRS, a tax pro may be able to help negotiate with the IRS or help you set up a payment plan.

If you get 2019 filed by April 17, 2023 you can still receive the refund if the tax form shows one.  Beyond that, the 2019 refund will be forfeited.
