Not quite sure what you did ---or what you think you did----but amended returns can only be submitted by mail.
You are supposed to wait until an original return has been fully processed before you amend to fix a mistake--you say you amended shortly after you filed.
The only way to file an amended tax return is to prepare a 1040X and print, sign. and mail it. If you did something else, like try to e-file a change, the changes were NOT TRANSMITTED.
You can amend a tax return after it has been fully processed and you have received your refund. You must work from your return exactly as it was when you first filed it. If you changed anything, change it back to the way it was when you originally filed it, before you follow the steps to amend. Follow the TT instructions to amend a tax return:
Wait about 3 weeks and you can check the status of your amended return:

It will take about 3-4 months for the IRS to process an amended return.
How do I amend my 2019 TurboTax Online return?
If it says Printed you might not have filed the original first return. Then if you mailed in an Amended 1040X the IRS will be confused and probably send it back to you.
Did you go all the way through the File tab, through the 3 steps and hit the big orange Transmit Returns Now button?
You can check your original efile status here
https://turbotax.intuit.com/tax-tools/efile-status-lookup/
When you efile you get back 2 emails. The first email only confirms the transmission. The second email says if the IRS (or state) Accepted or Rejected your efile.
if you never finished filing the first retun you need to delete the amended return and try filing again. Why did you amend? If your original return wasn't filed or it rejected you can just fix it and resend it.
