I cashed in a two year cd , will I get a 1099 for the cash received. thank you    from bart

@vg2  Ask your bank (or whoever) for the 1099 or if you will get one.  You should get a 1099INT if they paid you $10 or more interest.  It might be included on your regular bank account 1099 Int.  They have until Jan 31 to send you the 1099.  Or you might be able to look it up online at your bank, etc.

Yes.  You should receive a 1099-INT from your financial institute by January 31st 2020.  It will be for any interest earned on your CD during the previous year (in 2019) NOT the amount of cash received.   @vg2

 

To add interest income in TurboTax:

 

1. Sign In  or Open TurboTax

2.  Select "Take me to my return" (Online)

3.  Select "My Account" (top right of the screen Online) 

4.  Select "Tools" (Online)

5.  Select "Topic Search" (Online) and "Search Topics" (center top of screen on TurboTax Desktop)

6.  Type "interest income" and press "enter"

7 . Scroll down and select "interest income"

The 2019 software is available to you as a download when you are an Advantage subscriber.  Sign onto your Advantage account and you can use the toll free number for customer support and you can also download the 2019 software - https://accounts-tax.intuit.com/turbotaxadvantage
