Did you efile on January 27? If so, what day was it accepted? That wasn't very long ago.
The IRS says 9 out of 10 filers who efile and choose direct deposit will get their refunds within 21 days. Some returns are processed fairly quickly, while others require additional processing due to specific items in the return. Some are pulled at random for more thorough investigation.
Did you efile, or did you choose to print and mail the return?
If you efiled, double-check to be sure the return was efiled successfully and accepted.
Sign into your Online Account and check the efile status at the Tax Home.
If that showed it was accepted, you can use the tool at the IRS website below to monitor the status of your Federal refund.
https://www.irs.gov/Refunds
NOTE: When using that tool, use only the Federal refund amount, and not any total refund amount that includes a state refund.
The amount to use is on your Federal Form 1040, Line 21a.
NOTE: By law, the IRS will not begin issuing refunds on tax returns claiming the Earned Income Tax Credit or Additional Child Tax Credit until after February 15. So filers with those credits likely won't get their refunds until late February, or in some cases, early March.

Be patient. It can take up to 3 weeks. But usually takes 14 to 17 days
I efile my federal it was accepted on Jan 27th haven’t got anything all it says is it’s still processing it never took this long it’s just my husband work no child credit or anything like that it such be quick last year got it in two weeks after it was accepted plus I have direct deposit I got my state in 5 days to my direct deposit what’s the problem with my federal??
I efiled on January 27th and still haven't received my federal. It's never taken this long and everything is the same on my tax return as the other years I've filed besides a job change. I've checked the status on the IRS page and all it says is they received it and it's processing.
Turbo Tax will not have a status on your refund. If the IRS website says processing, this means they are working on it. Please use this link to track your refund from the IRS. https://www.irs.gov/newsroom/use-the-wheres-my-refund-tool

Once a tax return has been Accepted by the IRS or a State, TurboTax receives no further information concerning the tax return or the status of any tax refund. Only the taxpayer listed on the tax return can obtain the status of a tax refund or a tax return.
To check the status of an e-filed return, open up your desktop product or log into your TurboTax Online Account. You can find your status within the TurboTax product.
If accepted by the IRS use the federal tax refund website to check the refund status - https://www.irs.gov/refunds
If accepted by the state use this TurboTax support FAQ to check the state tax refund status - https://ttlc.intuit.com/questions/1899433-how-do-i-track-my-state-refund
After the tax return has been Accepted by the IRS (meaning only that they received the return) it will be in the Processing mode until the tax refund has been Approved and then an Issue Date will be available on the IRS website.
See this IRS website for federal tax refund FAQ's - https://www.irs.gov/refunds/tax-season-refund-frequently-asked-questions
If over 21 days since being Accepted by the IRS and the tax refund is still Processing you can call the IRS and speak with an IRS agent concerning your tax refund.
Call the IRS: 1-800-829-1040 hours 7 AM - 7 PM local time Monday-Friday
When calling the IRS do NOT choose the first option re: "Refund", or it will send you to an automated phone line.
So after first choosing your language, then do NOT choose Option 1 (refund info). Choose option 2 for "personal income tax" instead.
Then press 1 for "form, tax history, or payment".
Then press 3 "for all other questions."
Then press 2 "for all other questions."
- When it asks you to enter your SSN or EIN to access your account information, don't enter anything.
- After it asks twice, you will get another menu.
Then press 4 for personal or individual tax questions.
It should then transfer you to an agent.
I efiled on January 31 today is April 9th..... I still am waiting on my federal refund? Why?? I got my state right away but nothing about my federal
The IRS issues refunds, not TurboTax. This means that we can't say for sure why you haven’t received your refund if it's been longer than 21 days since you e-filed. When it's been longer than 21 days we recommend you contact the IRS.
Please refer to the link below for more information.
I filed my tax return on January 24, it was accepted on the 27th and it's almost May and I still haven't received it!!!!!! And now I haven't received my stimulus check! I read somewhere that if you efiled thru turbo tax and were having the fees come out of your refund, that turbo tax got my stimulus check to get their fees and would send me the remainder. Is that true? If so, when might I expect to receive my check??
Same here I have dependants only 1 but I filed Jan 27th also and it was accepted Feb 11th a week later I got my state and currently waiting on my federal on March 19th and the irs tool only says its still processing. Then my girl files with 1 dependant also she filed feb 10th was accepted on the 12th and got both of hers in a week. So definitely want to know why that is also and mind u mine are direct deposit I got state but not federal
There are a lot of delays for federal refunds this year. The IRS is working overtime to get stimulus payments sent out to you and process your tax returns. Per the IRS website IRS Operations During COVID-19: Mission-critical functions continue: Please visit here and see all services that have slowed down or been delayed due to Covid-19.
Once your tax return has been submitted, the most up to date information will come from the IRS. The IRS releases most refunds within 21 calendar days after the e-filed return has been accepted (received), not 21 days from the e-filing date.
To check on regular tax refund status via automated phone, call 800-829-1954. (This line has no information on Economic Impact Payments.)The only other way to know when your refund will be released is to use the IRS Where's My Refund tool. Until the IRS starts processing it on their own, you may not find record of it or the website may say that you have put in incorrect information when tracking your federal refund. As your return moves through the system, the status of it will be updated accordingly. Please see here for more information on checking the status of an e-filed return.
If accepted by the IRS use the federal tax refund website to check the refund status as it moves through the process here.
See the video in this link for a really good explanation of the process:
